Not much for defensive options, but white iron will sacrifice alot of damage for a little avoidance

Well; if you want high resistance then go with meteoric iron plate. For less resistance and higher damage go with bronze. I dual wield blades and use high str/high damage bronze chain. Depends on if you are the party/group designated tank or just want to seek and destroy mobs as fast as possible like I do "grins". R/Boris/El Pirata.

Sometimes the best defense is a strong offense. Seems to ring true in this game a lot. Then again, I'm getting to a point where T5-T6 stuff can't damage me at all. I just don't think that damage resist/avoidance is going to scale well enough for it to be as beneficial as offense at the higher tiers. The players I see soloing dragons and cabalists seem to be outputting insane damage numbers, while taking no direct attacks.

I initially wanted to play a tank role in this game, but it seems like that's not really viable.

As a Tamer I use a mix of Bronze and Constantine Plate armor and for my weapon (2 handed mace) I use Meteoric Iron.

As Grimbone stated maybe that's the way to go, bronze/Constantine mix armor but wouldn't a bronze weapon give you crazy fast hits with the 20% haste?

Forgive me for the noob questions but I have enough materials to start building sets and wanted to see what's what before blowing through all of it and make the wrong gear.

I an a big fan of Constantine armor as the added focus from the armor helps with your focus regeneration to support your higher tanked skills.

Not sure if the question was directed at me but I use a Meteoric Iron weapon for the extra weapon damage. Bronze weapon is for crit chance and crit damage. I also mix Bronze and Constantine armor because, as Tamer, your focus pool can get very low with a pet out (I lose 355 focus with pet out) and the Constantine gives me the extra focus I need.

The wiki said bronze adds haste? 20% attack speed.

hmm, I have to do more research, In time I'm sure I will get it.

    Thanks Grimbone.

Defensive Stance, Glancing Blow and Fortify Defense are the best defense skills for plate users imo.

Bronze does not add haste. That must be old info or something. It is however the most popular for damage output, and on the other side meteoric is the best for defense. Stay away from the other types unless you know exactly what you need for your build and you desperately need more health or focus.

My personal choice is always bronze.

Using dual wielded bludgeon can net you much higher HP that dual wielding blades.

Bludgeon is an ideal tank weapon

Im a blade user, but Im getting the impression that, when Im tanking for a higher lvl player, my dps is neglectible, and the stuns are what matter. Thinking o switching to bludgeon, so I was curious on why you say that they will give you a boost on health. Also, why dual yeld, if the str bonus of the blusgeon tree will come from the main hand? Thanks!

When you’re trying to hold aggro, attack speed can be as effective as the damage you do.

Dual wielding in light armor, my attack speed is very high so i can pull aggro from even very strong archers using rapidfire.

Since you’re using heavy armor, im thinking bludgeon will both increase your health and provide larger 1 off hits that could possibly pull aggro better. Also knockdowns for days
