Gamma correction wouldnt be bad, but the day/night cycle is a part of the game the devs have said they want to make it more of a living world.

They said a while back that they want you to have decisions based on day/night as well as mechanics that function on day/night cycles (of which there are some currently).

Even if it’s just an option to turn night off, it would take away from thier “living world” so i think itd be much more likely they will change nightsight instead

Have you tried just adding a game profile for SotA and make adjustments for gamma/contrast/brightness there for that specific profile?
Or try: Nvidia control panel in the display setting click on the second option i.e Adjust desktop color setting and select Use Nvidia Setting.

I agree that playing at night time is miserable. Makes me want to stop playing until day light comes and half the time I just don't come back. It's absurd how dark it is at night time and I can't believe more people don't have the issue.

Now that I have a windows system. Night time with my light spell and immolation spell up I can see mobs easily at night. Just tab while running around shows me all of the creatures I want to fight.

The green from nightvision gets a little stale after a while. A solution is to turn down the saturation level in the video options. Tunes it right out.

I really like the dark and find that it accurately depicts a world with small towns and cities lit by candle and torch.

Since you mentioned dead horses and creatures spawning at night...

Maybe it’s the post surgery drugs I’m on but this had me nearly popping staples with chuckles. What a great image!

They can simply keep the world clock active and give the sun/moon buffs at thier respective times of day and let us toggle dark of night on or off

Of note, I just crafted an Iron Miner’s Helmet. Curious how it works. Off to that near by mine near Jaanaford to find out....

Unfortunately, while miner helmets are cool.. the light is too narrow/focused to really be useful. My miner wears one more for aesthetics than anything else.

Yes I agree. In old UO, dark areas could be extremely dark in contrast to a torch.

I wonder how much of this is actually caused by the actual monitors people are using who are having problems? Newer LCD monitors can be a royal pain to get adjusted properly (if at all) in my experience.

I agree that night time looks great in the cities or well lit areas, it's in other areas that it becomes a problem for me personally.

In an effort to be as effective at immersion into a fantasy setting where the woods, or caves or crypts are hard to maneuver in the dark is essential, we are given spells and torches and other means to mitigate the darkness. It's perfect.

Maybe we could get a clock punk tech crafting skill tree and give people eye implants.

We could make Sota two dimensional and jump on enemies heads to destroy them ! (If we are already discussing an "always day switch") that would bring it about to the difficulty level some here may like....
