I've seen some good resources on recipe collecting if you are looking for a specific recipe. However, I haven't seen a good one for collecting ALL the recipes. I'm assuming if you've purchased all the recipes from: Blacksmith Tailor Carpenter Deco merchant General goods merchant Alchemist Cook Pets/trophies Deco Merchants may have different recipes between regions, including: Hidden Vale Verdantis Drachvald Norgard Longfall Elysium North Paladis South Paladis Quel Perennial Coast Midmaer Regalis Note: Grunvald excluded as it may not have a deco merchant. Note: Recipes that are indicated to be 're-teachable' can be discovered without purchasing the recipe by looking up the ingredients, placing those ingredients on the appropriate crafting table, and hitting 'craft'. You've gotten all the purchasable recipes (did I leave anything out?). Then there are a few findable recipes, like the Witch of the Wetlands. Then the rest are drops. Note: Recipe drops may vary by region. I suppose, what I'm asking is, before I go buying recipes off player vendors, have I collected all the NPC available recipes first? Are there some recipes that are only on a single vendor?
Updated op. I didn't realize the deco merchants differed by region...What major regions should we consider when recipe shopping?
err... all of them? ...except grunvald. the only npc city there is desolis and i don't think it has a deco merchant.
Even the drops seem to be regional. Like you seem to only be able to get Blacksmithing and Alchemy recipes in Twins Foothills, for instance.
I would suggest that BEFORE you go buying all the NPC Merchant recipes, read the tooltips on them to see if they are "Re-Teachable". If they are, then that means you can also just "discover" them by putting the ingredients on the proper crafting station. There are many of these Re-Teachable recipes that you don't need to buy to learn them... so looking them up on websites and discovering them will save you lots of gold. Also, someone in my guild has started a spreadsheet for merchants of all kinds (not just recipes). Don't think she will mind me sharing: Vendors
@Jaesun In the Hollow Log Home in the South Longfall Wetlands. Spoiler: Witch She has a recipe in a trunk but you must find the key to open it. If you strike her she will fight back. (BTW her ghost is stronger than she is)
I need to find a good t5 grind kill zone that I can group kill. I've been working nayard woods which is t4.
I've found that alchemy recipes drop fairly regularly in the Rise Mage room, I'm quite happy to give these away FREE to any budding alchemist that will learn and use where applicable. If interested add Killing Joke to friends list and send me a /w in game during European time when I'm online, though once their gone I won't be back in there until R54 starts with double exp again as I NEED to do something different for a few days at least
I join in to the give away, alchemie recipes are so common you use them to start your fireplace with, that stacks of parchments piles up over time....
Afaik the witch in the woods quest for the hollow log house is not active anymore, would need confirmation from dev maybe but that is what i heard about it.
www.sotatraders.com lists the recipes out by Region Sold, as well as what's drops. I was thinking about drilling down a little deeper, to have the list show recipes by region, then by merchant in the region. Actually will be updating the site to list all recipes by Region/Town/Vendor sometime tonight (EDT time). Was much simpler to do than I thought it would be.
