    Greetings!

I hope i'm not the only one who wants to have a better tool for the blazon-upload and -preview?

On my account-page i can only see the the "original graphic" i've upload - but ingame it sometimes looks a little bit different (colors, size). So, it is possible to create a better tool so we can see a "real" preview how the blazon will look like in the game? Pay 25,- to change the blazon is a little bit ... :/

Thanks and greetings from Austria :)

No one from the Community have time/human resources to improve the current tool or to create a better tool for the time being, I'm afraid.

Well, the community did invest a lot of time and energy into this system once, but it was sidestepped in the end to the current functionality. You can still make a jpg of your previously created crest, and upload it.

It would be nice to see how it looks on, say, a shield + banner + tabard, prior to punching the "accept" key.

either that or make the unlocking cheaper so folks don't have to toss away $25.

Yeah I paid to get mine unlocked... but it was trial and error. Second pass not so bad.

And pay for an "try and error" is a little bit unfair ...
Okay, when i WANT to change my blazon i should pay for it, but when the result is not like in my mind (because the colors or the size does not match) ... There should be a better preview-option to see, how it would look in the game. I think it's not to hard to create a script, where we can see a cape or a shielt, etc. behind the uploaded image?!

Well for second pass I just downloaded the images from the forum of the heraldry stuff... used that as my base layer. But if you are designing it using the tool, I can see how that would not be helpful. It made all the diff in the world for me though.

Great solution, but not everyone have the skills to do that by own.

I had to redo mine too. It appeared that in game under most lighting conditions the blazon appears how it would under a 25-50 contrast increase. My gold blazon became highlighter yellow.

I would like to be able to submit a square image that would fill out a shield completely when applied to the shield, but have an option to "cut out" the part that I want to show up on a banner or chestpiece and not have the entire square displayed on a banner. It would be nice to have a selection of "Cookie Cutters" to cut out the image and a real preview so that we could see the end result before submitting. The current system only works well for charges or shapes with a transparent background, but it doesn't work well for a COA that contains background colors (which would be displayed as an ugly square on banners).

A trial period per blazon acceptance would be a good idea, say you have one week to accept that as your blazon....if you find you don't like it, hit decline and submit your new image for acceptance. Once trial is done, then it is permanent till you want to pay to change it. Thoughts?

    That's an excellent idea!
Don't forget though, once you have your blazon on an item, you have to salvage that item and apply it to a new item for the new image to be applied!

I had to redo mine as well. If you are creating your own I have a good suggestion.

First create heraldry, convert one of the layers to transparent so you can see what its like. When you cut out the background though it
can leave bits of white behind which mess up the heraldry.

AFTER you do this, make sure to create a few layers of all the colors you might like to use.
Put your transparent heraldry on top. turn off all the layers of color. Test each one. Mine looks pretty decent on black, but it looks horrible
on the banners the banners are far to light.

You may need thicker outlines for a white background until they make banners dyable.

I might have to do that. I have a friend doing some some work on it. I keep buggering up the heraldry pattern part. I got the crossed hammers / pole-arm just right.
It shows up great on both now.

Also you can take a sample of the banners and use those as a background to test.

Yeah I thought the banners were going to be dye-able. That was a rude awakening.
