    @WeirDave could you please add some more info like the location where you want to complete this quest, where you got it what you did do etc. (and please add info from /bug ingame chat and paste your clipboard in here)

    I was attempting to complete the starter quests on a new character, Agatha Oakhaven. I picked up the quest in the Highvale outskirts from the trainer Leonard. Currently in my Journal it says "Learn a new skill, then equip it. I found a trainer, named leonard, in Highvale Outskirts that allowed me to learn new skills."

    In my HUD it says "Learn a new skill, then equip"
