With this new update, the summonings are even worse than before. For example, skeletons at level 80, including passive skills from death magic tree, from having 900 health and dealing some nice crits, now skeletons have got about 223 of health and having a ridiculous ammount of damage. Honestly I do not know what has happened with summonings for having a significantly nerf in near all aspects.

I have access to a couple of "summons", but never used them.
I am, however, interested in their "evolution" over the past years and their present "state".
I am going to assume that comment was "tongue in cheek", is that correct @Wraitteli ?
I hope we get more feedback here as it's an interesting topic......... ;)

Are they summons, summonings or just summoned creatures?

And they can now dance ;). The best dance I've seen is the Phoenix pet. Although you do have to have the pet dance emotes to make them dance. ;) Chris said one day he'd make summons more interesting. So this thread is a reminder to keep it on his radar.

Summons are general term all the elementals and undeads and whip you can summon via magic trees. Pets are what you get via taming.

Summoned pets have an open tech bug where scaling level doesn’t apply health bonuses. We know what is happening and why. It’ll have to wait until Monday at the earliest. It’s not a trivial fix and needs a bit of work to properly address.

Its good to know its been identified and fix is scheduled. A wait till after the w/e isn't a big deal, you guys could do with a few days of RnR and a cold beer or six after htis week I imagine.
My menagerie will be delighted to know they have the weekend off! More work for me though, they have to be fed!

Will this also include increased damage for the summon? Because a level 28 Water elemental does the same damage as a GM'd Fire elemental which is 2-14 (which is incredibly poor damage for their levels).

Yes, 85 lvl air elemental hits for only 2-14 also, doing nothing special beyond the damage. Also seems to have the default lich/masculine voice going with more femine look so voice needs updated as well (might make more sense to clone the water elemental voice for it meanwhile?). But good to see some attention to these summons, hoping to see damage increase with levels and some advantages for each elemental (right now air for example has nothing going for it vs. other elementals), thanks for taking a look at this stuff :)

Speaking of water elementals, does anyone else get really annoyed trying to kill the monster ones because they just heal themselves over and over to infinity?

I do not really understand what for we have summoned at all beside the healing waterpet.

Stone golem is maybe good for decoy but not terribly so (lousy ac and hp for an stone elemental)

Fire and air pet draw lots of focus for dealing a tiny ammount of damage, tanking worse than stone

Whisp good for debuffing trash mobs, as soon it is an dragon or anything named the debuff is not worth the bother and waste of materials casting them..

Water heals, and is about the only pet that makes any sense conjuring.

So why do we have all these (beside water) pointless pets?

At lower levels they are kinda usefull, but raising them near GM (so around 80) the focus penalty beside moon becomes so heavy that they are more an annoyance, they do not get better, they get worse if one scales them with the damage dealt with weapons/spells by oneself.

I am used to that if you go conjurer your summons is the channel of your power, not takes power/focus from you to do very little beside adding to graphic lag.

Cant we replace the summons with something usefull instead?
Maybe some sort of shapeshift that turns the caster into the elemtal and gives some stat buffs.prof or something crazy like that, at least something fun instead having an distraction that draws focus and brings next to nothing in return.

I was for some time specialised in Moon (something around 60points) and observed that some time back it did some AC debuff on dragons but that went away after an update and now they do nothing beside sitting there and blinking.

Similar to the other summons, they are kinda there and doing stuff but nothing that really makes up for the focus cost, especially on higher levels.

Right now water pets are semi usefull until they get there healing reduced/removed i guess.

They are like ghosts, you have to strike hard and fast to make up to the heal/lifedrain, given they have lousy ac not that much of an bother as long you keep enough focus attacks at hand to burn them.

Cool plz also keep in mind that tamed pets are slightly above the summoned ones in damage. If you buff up the summoned damage plz move the tamed ones by the same variance. My wolf hits for 25 thats with 65 million exp invested in the tree.
