I was having an issue with screen capture. I have it worked out now so I'll try to get a better video.

Yeah it is. Mine is much worse than that. I will probably post a video myself in a while.

I experience constant hitching everywhere - POTs, zones and the map. It was bad last release but is worse this release.

This is my #1 most frustrating issue in the game right now. It's literally making it almost unplayable for me.

Try simplescreenrecorder, performance is pretty good on that one.

    Performance was pretty good Today..

PS: No, it is not the stream (buffering) that is stuttering.

I'm using the default Gnome screencast feature (ctrl+alt+shift+r). By default, it's limited to 30 seconds. You have to modify an esoteric gsettings value in order to extend the maximum. I now have it set to 10 minutes, which is enough for my purposes.

Yeah I did some tests with the gnome one, but performance was not too good. Thanks for gsettings trick.

Here's another video. This one is much more representative of the severity of hitching that I typically experience:

this clip shows something i've noticed: it's almost always when changing camera distance due to a cut-off like a wall or a tree or going around a corner. it's not that field of view is too wide, either: i have those all the way to the left. perhaps it's aggresively culling stuff cut off by the camera and has to rebuild it when the view expands?

It happens to me while just standing there casting spells and not moving the camera. I have found no correlation with any action.

Also happens to me while crafting - so I'm not sure what is causing the hitching.

This hitching is really bad. I'm running on linux (arch). Very bad hitching. Complete pauses during combat makes the game nearly unplayable. Anyone have any workarounds? Devs, any update on this issue? Edit - it is unplayable. Really bad. Looks and feels like garbage collection gone rogue.

It seems to me that it gets worse on the weekends (higher server load) as well.

Sorry it took me so long to get a video together. Anyway, here is me hitching away. At the point that the video started I had only loaded the game like 5mins before. The hitching, had I stayed logged in would have gotten way worse. I also tried the game on the QA server and got hitching there as well, though it did appear to be ever so slightly better. I went ahead and ran Gallium HUD so everyone could see how the game was performing, and also, it is a good way to see when the hitching occurs, as the HUD will freeze up right along with the game.
