    The Guide to Brewing: Ale/Beer/Wine/Whiskey

    Brewing is a complex and confusing to many players. Here are the steps to help ease your frustration and use at your leisure time. Brewing and Agriculture go hand-in-hand in reducing the costs of buying crops, but you don’t really need Agriculture in order to brew your own casks. I’ll continue to update this as new information/updates come out. Please drink responsibly and don’t be an Alcoholic.

    Required Knowledge & Materials:

    4. Blacksmithing skill (To make Metal Bindings)
    5. Agriculture skills (If you want to grow your own crops; See my guides to Agriculture)

    MISC:

    You can store the full casks in any containers or stack them inside or outside your house and basement. You can not harvest the final products until the casks are matured. Below are the casks mature duration date.

    Maturity Duration:
    Beer:
    3 Earth Days
    Ale: 3 Earth Days
    Wine: 7 Earth Days
    Whiskey: 2 Year = 28 Earth Days; 7 Year = 98 Earth Days; 25 Year = 350 Earth Days

    Cost Benefit Analysis:
    • Buy or Make Jar of Yeast Culture?
    • [IMG]
    • As you can see clearly from the chart, it's better to buy the Jar of Yeast Culture from the NPC's Merchant. While fetching water, farm, and make your own material would save 2 golds per jar, it's not worth it with the farming and cooking extensive time lost.

    • Looks like the 2 gold saved would earned you the overall 350 exp. per seed. So if you have the time to spare, you can grow the Wheat and earn at least 350 exp.
      Exp. Breakdown:
      Sow = 34
      Water = 9
      Water = 9
      Water = 9
      Harvest = 7
      Make 3 x Grains = 120
      Make 3 x Flours = 120
      Make 1 x Jar of Yeast Culture = 42
      Grand Total Exp. = 350 (Without Exceptional Item)
    Magical Buff: Coming soon in future release(s)

    No need to buy cooking recipes they are mostly re-teachable and thus discoverable by putting exact amounts on the crafting station.

    I think you've done well to cover the "what" - what you need, what is involved, what to do.
    I'd like to see more of the "why" - ie, making a profit at it - but appreciate with the current state of sell value for brewing that this likely can't be answered at the moment - but mapping out profit per cask, return on investment, etc. would be of interest to me in this sort of guide.

    I made some. No buffs from that? Why havent they made it the way that now we have only 1 Food and 1 Beverage Buff?
    Enough Beverages available for a wide Food + Beverage Buff Combo.

    Good Guide!

    Yes, magical buffs are coming in the future release.

    Update: From R56 forward, all casks will have the "Brewed by <insert player name>" on the casks. R55 casks will not have that so it would be a collectible item.

    do you have any numbers on the agriculture ingredients - ie cost to purchase, growth time, resell price if you resold to vendor and good locations? I know some locations only have 1-2 , others are scattered around?
