This got buried in another post but I think is important enough to have it's own thread.

I share many of the same frustrations about the game, Portalarium, the forums and the community as you. But it's refreshing to see such candor in the face of harsh criticism and is one of the reasons I believe in the team and continue to support SotA. Am I a fool for doing so? Perhaps, and time will tell.

I'm having fun regardless and hope the team continues to improve SotA so others can have fun too.

I like that you identified this as a reason for hope. In the spirit of the post, one of the greatest things that will help is if the people who support the game don't try to push away the disaffected. Once people realize that the negative feedback which comes from people who have committed time and money to Shroud is a source of creativity that can help the game, there may be still yet be more hope.

    The issue aren't the disaffected.
The issue are the crusaders (on both ends of the spectrum).

Agree but those who only scan topic threads or don't go past the first few comments in a post wouldn't see it.

Don't you see that characterizing people as "crusaders" is just a simplistic form of dismissal too? I can agree with one aspect, that this happens on both the positive/negative side. I will advocate for understanding the negative posters just because that's always the harder road.

No. Though i admit you just handed them a nice knockout argument. Gratulations.
Lucky me that i don't participate in that kind of discussions anymore.

In my mind, people who don't seek to understand others before they respond never should. The point is not to hand someone a knockout argument.

Although we sure have some Details wer wont agree each other, this is again something i agree very much.

It's about beeing fanatic in this or that direction.

I want to use this chance/ Thread to express that i like what @DarkStarr said and i dont feel i'm a fanatic on a crusade for or against SotA.
I stepped back, i returned, i again adressed what i dislike and tried to argue and maybe convince some players - in fact i believe a lot of players who havent played that much and enjoy it so far, seem to not see the whole picture as myself when i was only hyped and a fan with no doubt - to considerate my opinion about caps and limitations.
Now we have a first steps into this direction like capped pvp scenes.
    Maybe an acceptable compromise.
But this i dont want to discuss again.

I just want to make clear i am not complaining over and over , i'm passionate to tell my opinion and convinced that my suggested changes would attract thousand of players.
Just because friends and workmates told me and almost everybody new comes with sentences like: i build an archer, Ranged, Melee Fighter Type, Mage.. .
And end up building a hybrid with xx roles he can become by switching his deck.
And thats not trolling or complaining, its just beeing passionate about to turn things around to get the game to be more successfull.
    Maybe i'm wrong.
But teachings and muzzle's never were a solution.
Everything what is supressed or chased away is coming back double strong.

Would that quotes and similes could fix everything. They never do because they never capture reality 100%. How could you in only a few words? For example, clouds are necessary because they make beautiful days beautiful. (rain -> green plants)

Let me do one last statement though: i fully understand them.
The question is: can they still be reasond with. If the answer is "no" you have got what i call a crusader.
You don't have to like the term. You don't have to agree with me. I respect your approach to that topic and that kind of people.
I am just missing the patience to fight a proxy war or to try to unite people for the greater good.
To unite people we would need a common goal. That is something that seems impossible because we all have/had a very very different idea of waht SotA should be/have been/become.

Do it like the Tau do. :)
Word. And as was pointed out... Many people built sandcastles in the sky, interpreting what they heard to fit their preconceptions... Then when something is delivered that fulfills the commitment, but doesn't live up to their fantasy, they get upset about it.

There have been a few things that I've done this with... Features that've been delivered that didn't live up to the Golden Castle in the Sky I had built up in my mind... However, if I step back, and lower my gaze back to reality, and look at it objectively, I've seen that what was delivered actually did what they said it would do. Would I have liked to have had my Golden Castle? Certainly... Am I upset that They didn't build MY Fantasy? That would be unreasonable.

    I see two solutions:

All lay back and get ready for compromises.
    Example for me would be.
Have endless progression, but capped pvp scenes and maybe more in Detail, also limited trees.

Or Portalarium decides in one direction and clearly states the other is closed , regarding SP or MMORPG for example.

And of course there are some more points what need to be thought over and find compromise or make a hard decision.

Well, Portalarium will for sure finding more compromises .

Grind is reduced by double xp and Spots like UT.
PvP starts to be beeing capped.
    That's all sort of compromises.

    I appreciate that.
In the end it is maybe still not the game i Dreamed for, but maybe still a good compromise for a lot of people.
