Now that we no longer need to travel through Control Points on the Overland Map any chance we can get a return of the Ferry that used to run between Ardoris and Kingsport ? Maybe we could get other ferrys as well like one from Ardoris to Brittany Central and then Brittany Central to Kingsport ? I can think of a few others as well but I'm sure you get the point. Thanks for listening.

The old Ardoris to Kingsport would be great.
Might help Kingsport actually come alive again...

No Control Points solves the problem by allowing ease of access to existing ferry services.

    Just sayin'

    The only problem I see:
Hidden Vale will be changed in Tier5+
New players could be very confused, if they use a ferry -by accident- from Adoris to the Hidden Vale (same sometimes could happen by Lunar Rift to Owl's Head).

It would be a good idea to hide these possibilities to Players before they reached an appropriate Adventure Level...
Or may be a warning like "You leave the Episode 1 main path Content to enter a High Tier (5+) Zone. Keep Care. Do you really want ... ?"
@Sannio - is there a solution you considered?

All the Adventure Areas are clearly marked with Tier Level though. If they want to go in there, go for it.

    Never ever hide things.

Sure, Adventure Areas are marked. But is it really "clear" for a new player? Maybe "hiding" was the wrong word.
A user friendly engine could provide some information at that point, when someone enters a dangerous place for the first time or leaves from a main path to another place providing another experience ...
As I was new to Novia I really was confused by switching to Hidden Vale. And new players often get lost at the beginning on their first quests in Outskirts ...

Beside this: I would really appreciate if the map would hide (fog) everything I haven't explored yet (towns, scenes, secret doors, ...).
It is spoiling and overwhelming to have all this information from beginning and it takes a lot of fun to explore the lands ...

And another quick/easy access to explore HV wouldn't hurt either.

I have seen this reference to no Control Points in a couple of threads but seem to have missed where this has been stated by Port ? Could someone please point me in the right direction for this is posted ?

i believe it was talked about in one of the recent livestreams. if you want it in writing, i'd expect it to be in the draft notes for next release sometime next week.

Thanks Alley, was just curious as to where it had come from - will await the release notes for that and whatever other nuggets of information they may contain !

Due to the geographical location and the original map it should really be
    Port Graff <> Kingsport.

    EDIT
    [IMG]
You can see in the top right corner "To Hidden Vale" in Runic, right at Port Graff.

I was very disappointed when they put that ferry in Brittany instead. This since a ferry in the capitol of the lands isn't "hidden" at all and it didn't make any geographical sense.

Any idea on implementation? I'm guessing you'll be able to simply walk past them on the overland map and only go in by choice?

And I suppose this might be outside the scope of this discussion, but was this related to abandoning the idea of regional economies?
