People mostly are cool. It's solo friendly. Developer team seems to be on the ball considering the team is very small. Has the Ultima series vibe which is awesome. Deck building seems a ***** at the start, but it's actually fun once you get used to it. I'm not super into it, however housing is pretty cool with all those deco items. Not to be completely insulting, but it isn't an asian styled game. Come to think of it; i can list quite a few things :D

pretty much played every major mmorpg since UO.
Finally got my wife to play a game with me and I couldnt be happier that it is SotA. We have a blast exploring, fighting, crafting and just spending time in the game the "feeling" of being in and playing SotA is unmatched.

    1. The sandbox elements
    2. Crafting system
    3. Housing system/POT development
    4. The social elements
    5. What the future holds and foretells.
    (Player Dungeons)

Every patch this game brings a lot of new things. nothing out there has as many systems and expensive systems.

    Many things keep me here:
The progression (or the grind!) There is always a new challenge, just another goal "just over the hill". The sense of satisfaction when skills finally top out and I can put down a cabalist single-handed!
The freedom to build a character and fighting style to suit your own taste. And the challenge of working out how to beat a particular mob.
The world with all there is to explore - so much of it I haven't seen yet!
The dream of future expansion - ships that sail across the ocean to name but one
Combat - I actually love the combat system, and it is now second nature.
Housing - love it, although I am a poor decorator.
Crafting - what the community can do is awesome. And I am even taking steps towards masterworking and enchanting.
The community, and the many great friends I have made here. Beyond amazing!
The fun of actually making a contribution (Echoes from the Caverns, New Britannia Theater Troupe) It has been a challenge at times but I have worked (and look forward to working) with wonderful people, and we have presented great entertainment to the community.
The dev team - totally awesome, passionate, and always open and up front about everything.

    In no particular order...

    Potential..
What the game has and came still become.
What I can do.. with my character, my town, my home and my story

    Community & RP
    So many great people here

    The team
Devs are awesome and continue to be
They're very talented and hard working..
They manage to take a lot of abuse and keep going forward, don't know how they do it!

    Ultima
Long time Ultima fan and there is a lot of Ultima in SotA even if you have to look for it.

    Input
I don't care to brag but a lot of my early ideas went into the game. Because the devs are willing to listen. And while I'm sure they haven't kept track, I have for my own personal satisfaction. :) But the point is, Portalarium listens (not the same as agreeing but they do listen :))

    Freedom.

Freedom to participate in whatever part of the game I like to, and with enough options to ignore parts without feeling like I'm missing out. And then the freedom to pick up those parts later.

Building within the game. I started with a furniture store, now we've got too many stores (I need to consolidate TBH) and a factory that supplies them. New players make parts for me, they get paid and are thankful. It's a sandbox gamey version of a whole lot of real world things, minus the heaps of stress that would come with them.

    Novia is a world.

And yes, watching the development, and seeing bugs and suggestions I've submitted suddenly appear in a game. It's pretty cool!

Watching the progress of each release!
Said this before, but I really enjoy how the game improves.
(Always look on the bright side of life ;))

    I mean:
not only "MY" FAVORITE (Story, Quests, Journal) and all stuff, I would like to have improved!
I really like it to watch, how the game gets a huge world, full of possibilities for ALL PLAYSTYLES.
I think this is the vision of the game viewing it long term...

Seeing and feeling, that (although, sometimes it takes time!) recommandation is accepted and improves the gameplay (well, after a good amount of time).

Raising master crafting and feeling my armor and weapon gets better.
(Well, until Chris decides to change something, so I get thrown back 3 releases ;))

The hope for Episode 2 - more story, improved presentation and bugfree quests!

Having my ICY somedays at Lvl 100, beating the Tier5 for me and having Elemental improvements Skills with Episode 2 :)

And last but not least ...

... someday to win a lot deed for a non POT, to place a small house in a small village of my choice I would like to call "1st home" ...

Beside this, there are really nice people I met over the time and I also appreciate that so many people are interested to improve themselves on the Path of the Virtues ...
(Well, I still hope so ;))

Taking small ‘vacations’ always helps - this could be going off the grid to playing other games ..

I seem to rotate between older mmos like Eve or Guild Wars 2 and single player RPGs

I like rare loot like cowbell of reaping, orange supply bags, some recipes to make artifacts, and the artifacts themselves.
I enjoyed saving up in-game gold to buy my first home, and now earning gold to pay my taxes.
I decorated my house with furniture I crafted myself.
I like killing dragons trolls or daemons in groups.
I look forward to the raffle each month.
I liked LFG (before UT, now I don't like it anymore, because I hate UT, and that is all LFG is used for).
I like gardening and fishing, and increasing my adventurer levels.

What keeps me playing this game:

    -selective multiplayer...
    -SPO (single player online) mode...
    -running my vendor shop...
    -Monthly Live streaming from Devs...
    -Monthly release of new content/fixes/polish...
-I want to see what episode 2 thru 5 will be like...
    -adventuring across Ultima style map...
    -Gathering resources to craft things...
    -shopping at other player vendors...
    -fighting my way to resources...
-doing things I could never do in UO, SotA is what UO should have been from begining...
    -multi level crafting system...
    -no skill cap...
    -death penalties...
    -PvP zones...
    -separate combat/crafting skill system...
-day/night cycle almost as dark as Ultima 9...
