What is the refresh timer on the "first time" XP bonus for crafting a recipe.

you can do it with 3 ingredients 2x Wood (Maple or Pine) Boards and Bindings and one metal Binding (iron/copper) and it tracks each individual for tries to craft! so your second craft must have been one other combination of the 8 possible basic ones

so you have 2^3=8 possible combinations to get your first crafting bonus = 160k producer XP for all combinations without exceptionals (5x) or recovery failures (which give ZERO XP)

Ah I see, I think that is abnormal compared to a lot of the recipes, but am not sure. About to rain on everyone's catapult parade, @DarkStarr have a look to make sure this is as you all want it to be. Sorry everybody

all recipes with different possibilities to be crafted have this behaviour.

 

Seems to be a lot of misinformation in here. The first time bonus definitely resets. I know I have seen it reset after several weeks. I have seen this many times. As other have noted, here are the bonuses you get.

First time bonus = x 20
2nd time bonus = x 3.636
3rd time bonus = x 3.334

The exceptional bonus is x 5, and is on top of the other bonuses.

I just tested this yesterday with a multiple recipes I have used in the past. I usually do not try it again for 2-3 weeks, after I have collected enough material to do 100 crafts. It could very well be that it has always been after a new release, but I have not kept track of it.

Yesterday I did try to repeat a recipe after only 6 days, and did not get the bonus.

 

As Shim said using different components for the same recipes is considered a new craft.

So making a copper long sword and then making a iron long sword will be 2 different crafts. So crafting recipes with generic materials can be done several times, but it is still a one off. At least that is my experience.

Misinformation or lack of correct information? I've had the 20x twice. Yet sometimes not. I've seen a reset of sorts but no clue why, nor do you know why.

The only correct information, in my opinion, is that it seems devs love to leave us in the dark wondering what is intentional vs. bugged.

 

One thing to note, is they take forever to make. The XP per catapult is good, but the XP per hour isn't significantly better than making spider potions or mining Elysium, in my experience. (Pun not intended.)

 

Has anyone noticed a refresh timer with build 58?

 

I can also confirm my crafting table recipes have been reset. Getting first time crafting XP gains.

Yes, they are intentionally using many component combinations to get first time exp bonuses, and then it resets and they do it again.

Yes, you do the combinations to get crafting exp, then it resets with release or whatever intangible it is, I'm inclined to agree with you that it is some releases. And then you do the combinations again to get more crafting exp.

 

So, did ward gems get reset for you peeps? I have not crafted any ward gems on mac for many months, maybe even over a year. I want to test this.

 

I only tested catapults.
1st gave 20K, 2nd 2k, then minimal above 1K.

 

I did notice an additional initial bump in xp when making another set of 100 light, dark, and regular yellow dyes. It may have happened to me since the first few I got more than 2k for a dark yellow dye. (400xp being base and 2k for critical)

 

There's definitely a bump after waiting some period after not crafting an item for a while. Like once a month I craft one of every dye to build a nice bit of xp. It may not go back to 'first time' but the bump is substantial and not just from exceptional crafting.
