Please give me SPO in my own POT back.

I really hate the forced open mode in POTs.

Having everyone run through me or take the same place when crafting.
Please give me the option to switch to single mode (OK if the multi mode is default).
Some people like a more crowded world - I dont.
Please do not use force (in either way) - let the players choose.
If not then please at least give me the option to select the mode for my own POT.
And else please give an option to ban all but residents (and not only 10).

The change sucks
If they insist on having this it should be selectible by the town owner.

They have not considered that you are ALWAYS on public display.
No more running around in your BVD's in private mode in your own house.
If you do any emotes, the whole town knows it...
That means I can't type /fart unless you want everyone to know and smell up the entire chat for everyone in the town.

Your own lot needs to be LOCKED down to keep it private and no more using public items (crafting tables pianos, etc).

I'm not sure who's idea this was but it is a terrible idea.

From the beginning we were told the game is 'selectible' play mode.
Just another broken promise if it is 'forced'.

 

I much prefer the "living town" feeling that open provides and know that everyone in my town is very likely in the same instances is terrific.

However, I do like choice. I fully support defaulting users to open every time they zone in and allowing them to then switch to party/private make sense. I don't think giving governors control over their town makes as much sense as giving users control over their experience. However, I have no objections to it.

 

I am okay with multiplyyer being the default, especially on the map. I would like to have the option to stay private for all sorts of reasons (privacy, better fps, not being bothered by strangers) if I choose so.

Anyway, my biggest issue in the game is that if friend in party is in friends only mode and I am in multiplayer, I cannot teleport to them, I cannot even enter the scene and join them, I need to wait a long time to switch modes and then switch scenes, which is a terrible waste of my time, allow me to change my mode during the scene change.

 

The change is great IMHO though perhaps an option for POT owners to set their towns "mode" would be good as Starlord suggests.

 

What on earth would you be doing that was unsuitable for public "display" ?

@Gorthyn that is not the point. What business is it of anyone why you want public or private mode. It doesn't matter why we would want to be private and not open. What does matter is that we have the choice because that is what was promised when we bought a kick started game.
I do not want to control my residents but I want my residents to be in control of what they do. If we are on the overland world then we should see others but if we are in our homes why should anyone see or hear anything I am doing unless I chat in Zone or Local. Just like I do not want you to just walk into my real live house without being invited so it is if I chose that in the game it should be that.
Well, all the discussion will not get me anywhere except in an argument and that is sad so my Opinion is is to have my own choice in Dragomir Mori and I want you to have your own choice where you live as well.

 

Well you could always just tell the people the name of your POT, and that you want to be left alone, and we can avoid it.

I'm all for making the game feel more lived in to attract new players. It no longer feels like a ghost town. Given the option to go SPO and return it to a ghost town, is of no benefit to Port and not a way to attract more players.

I think it would be a major step back for them to undo the change.

 

If the game goes back to feeling like a ghost town as it was before the change happened then we might as well all give up now as the game will be doomed.

 

The game was not advertises as MMO only.

 

POTs should be selective, period. PRTs NPC towns do whatever, but POTs should be whatever the owner wants. @DarkStarr , @Chris , @Lord British

People paid a lot of money for these and you should allow them to make it private for their citizens.

 

If people are that disgruntled... sell your POTs. That is also a choice. Like I said it makes no sense for Port trying to make the game feel more alive.

edit: or when they have to close their doors because they can't attract people, you can have fond memories of the POT in your olden days.

 

and therein lies the problem of the entire game sadly in so many ways.

 

I want my spo back EVERYWHERE.

 

It isn't unreasonable for Governors to select the mode they want their towns to be.

 

I think the change is awesome I have seen and interacted with more players in one day then I have since release.

Keep up the good work Port.

 

Support of player-made content is also one of the current initiatives to help with world vitalization, so there is some sense in finding a good balance between these sides rather than choosing either at the expense of the other.

 

Yes. That's the solution if you bought something under totally different circumstances...
