Teleport to zone scroll

Over the years, I've been to nearly every zone, so why is it that I only know about the town that I just logged into?

 

I am guessing we have to "discover them" to make the Teleport to Zone Scrolls work?

 

It looks like you start building a list when you get the release it is in. I visited several zones before I got the recipe and when I used the scroll it had all the zones I had visited.

 

It just seems a bit wonky that I have to go back to places that I've already been to in order to know how to teleport there.

 

Not really since I doubt they had any reason to keep a list of the places you visited, until now that is. If there was no reason to keep the list, they wouldn’t waste the data resources need3d to track your visits. Since they only know where you’ve gone if it was being tracked, they have no way of knowing where you’ve been. And going to a place is part of the design and use of the scrolls. I guess they could have just said you can go everywhere no matter if you’ve been there or not, but where’s the fun in that.

 

All the entrances and exits are marked on my compass. They're only there because I have previously "discovered" them.

 

I suspect the compass database was not really compatible with the zone scroll, so new/old discoveries await. Might be too much work to extract information from the compass info database.

 

Where are all the people who keep whining for database or skills resets? Here we are with everybody starting out the same on something, just like they want!
