Well you can always use it for the informational part of it. Just open a scroll and point at the locations to see what is in each scene you have visited. I place mine on my non combat bar and if you click on one all the locations you've visited show up and just point at their icons to see what each scene has in it and then walk there if you like to do that or whatever. ;)

You can teleport straight into the mines or nested towns.

Here is the beauty of these scrolls. No one is forced to use them.

Why is any further comment needed?

The new scrolls are awesome and well implimented. The extra info is good, being able to teleport to nested scenes is great, the interface is good, they did a good job! I'm very happy about it. :)

Hm. If you can go right to a mine, then I could see myself using if them if I've decided to spend the day grinding out ore. But only because traveling to and from the same place and then fighting my way to the mine repeatedly is a grind of it's own.

Im conservative with resources, most of Tortoise Clan will save these for special occasions.

However, most of Tortoise Clan are light armor types.

Im aware that most players in this game wear heavy armor (cuz, you know, its almost like cheating its so OP). I recently started getting adv exp on Pitch Tortoise more, who wears heavy armor. Holy crap, life without Dash, Sprint, and the light armor movement spells sucks! You move so slow! I went and made about 2K Potions of Wolf Speed last weekend just for this one character lol.

I finally can empathize with everyone complaining about the OW map slowness.

Black Tortoise zips across the entire continent in like 40 seconds (nearly GM in all light armor skills, and lvl 80 Dash). But I can certainly see me making use of these scrolls on my new heavily armored tank.

I no longer object to this change :) I understand all you tanks' pains now.

I just used one and they might replace recall for me as you can select the starting destination within a town it's handy having your lot right next to one.

As a "tank" I don't. 2 minutes is still only 2 minutes. I guess I'm just weird for not being bothered by what I already feel to be plenty fast enough getting from point A to point B.

Until you want to get together with a group to do something 2 minutes away. Then everyone expects you to teleport..

I wish you had to bind them to a specific destination i.e. craft the scroll, travel to the destination, bind and now you have "Teleport to Brittany Scroll". That would have created something interesting to trade. But of course that wouldn't have been nearly as convenient.

They really need to change the wood pulp recipe from scrap from 1 for 1 to 10 for 10.

My only problem with overworld traveling is starting a few releases ago about half the time I get bad framerates on it. I didn't report because the other half of the time it's smooth.

I seem to recall UO being quite popular and lasting for many years....

I like the new scrolls. I still run good amount of the time but sometimes I need to get somewhere fast or cover a large distance and my RL time is limited so its great to have that in quiver.

If a group is unwilling to wait 2 minutes for you, they are not a group one should join. Next problem?

Yes a little too much so. to the point that some people couldn't be bothered in some cases to walk across the street. Every tune I went into town people were popping into a shop.. buy sell guards! and then teleporting to the next shop over.. rinse and repeat.. or that guy in Vesper who spent 20 minutes begging for a gate to Minoc 5 minutes away.. (though I suppose that might have had something to do with PKers) I would also argue that "popularity" should not be the sole means of determining a 'good thing'.

Thankfully, these aren't quite that bad. So long as people can't sell pre-marked locations. That's what'd really put it over the top.

    So is cocaine...
    So is Windows...
Popularity doesn't necessarily equate to good.

Nor does it equate to bad.... hehehe
What "popularity" does do, is add more players and keep others from looking for more rewarding entertainment elsewhere....
It's all about the "Quality of Life" thing that Port has FINALLY recognized and addressed, having seen how largely "unpopular" things like the death penalty, being forced to run thru CP's just to get somewhere, and not having the ability to avoid wasting time on the overworld.... etc. ;)

    Their choice.....
Not sure how that is a bad thing, for them or for you. ;)

So long as you're in multiplayer.. anything that influences player behavior influences everyone's experience. We all experience and want to experience the game a little differently. It can get a little annoying when you have to make a conscience effort to ignore things. Granted, the same can be said of just about any player behavior.. but still, the point is that regardless of the feature or who's choice it is (or isn't).. it DOES influence every individual's experience for good or bad.

I just wouldn't be so quick to dismiss someone with "you're not forced to do it" or "it's their choice what do you care"? While I understand that, it doesn't mean I can chose what I witness when I play.... if I want to play in multi-player.
