    Hi,

If you are on GNU/Linux and want fast DX performance, use DXVK (Vulkan on D3D11).
You could build it yourself or use a repository for your Distro. But if you are not in the mood for all this, then use Steam and enable Steam Play on Proton.

With the latest Steam update you can specifically select if you want to use Proton for you desired game.

I have tested the DXVK on vanilla wine and also on Steam, they work very good!
Just a FYI and letting you know its really worth it.

And SotA on Vulkan is pretty damn fast!

    Enjoy.

    @Feeyo
How is the hitching during scene load?

I hope you guys get your Linux API fixing hitched, because having gone through that on MacOS for a few months last year I can attest to how much it sucks.

    No hitching is amazing.

Vulkan still doesn't work directly in the Linux client. :(

I am running VK (Vulkan) as you see on the screenshot. (ignore the FPS and BLIT) that is because of making a screenshot. Yes its through DXVK like stated. But it runs 20 times faster then on native Linux ;)

Yes, and it will probably never happen. I gave up hope.

Then again what does it matter if it runs with DVXK much much faster and stable..

    I suppose it doesn't matter.

You will be amazed how fast it is compared to the native linux client. No hitching, while turning the camera or loading into the scene, in scenes I have 20 fps with native I get now 60fps.

OK, maybe I'm blind but how do you force it to install the Windows version (steam play is already enabled for all titles)?

If you have the latest steam, press properties of Shroud: and choose:

If will then probably re-download Shroud, when that finishes just launch it.

Figured it out. You need the latest Steam beta in order to force Steam Play.

Is there any way to install the QA version side-by-side yet?

Bummer. You would think that Steam would have some way to force two versions of the same game at the same time.

Yea just putting a QA client in another directory does not seem to difficult I guess. But Steam seems to think different hehe.

I mostly keep the native clients (release and QA) on disk also. Just to be sure I have a failback.
