Is your master working affected by the base production skill, ie tailoring or carpentry?

No. The base skill effects exceptional and success chance of creating an item. The base MW skill effect the success chance of getting a MW or failing, the subskills effect the power of the MW.

There is an upcoming change that will unlock new masterworks only if your base skill is 100.

A: This is used to determine your exceptional chance
B: This is used to determine the % that a masterwork will be successfully applied or failed
C: This is used to determine how powerful that effect will be if successful.

Same principal can be applied to other skill trees.

Good Lord, what are your exceptional chances, and the other MW chances?

@Scoffer Do you happen to remember what skill level gives percent increase after GM? I'm in a situation where my A, B, C and are at 100, but I'm reluctant to invest in A and B because I don't know how long it'll take to get the next percent increase for exceptional/MW success chance.

With the blessing of Valor, wayland loop and using an expert blacksmithing station I'm at 30% exceptional chance and the masterworks are at 95%/91%/52%/17%

I'm afraid I'm not sure when the upticks are for the masterworks, I know I hit 30% exceptional chance right at 145 because that was my aim and I didn't get it at 140 so just kept going.

Uptick for exceptional chance after 100 is 112. uptick for % after 100 on your base skill, and it does not always do all 3, sometimes its your second and not third, is 105.

Wow! @Scoffer only has a 30% exceptional chance at level 145?

Is that as intended? I would expect ... 100%? I mean, your chances of creating something supernatural is more than 3 times higher at a lower skill level.

That is so demotivating for us pathetic worms who are "only" GM

Yeah, one of the fundamental issues with crafting system, really. The difference between GM, and someone who's invested enough XP to GM it 50 times, is a few %. =/

Yes. Pretty much everything I can stack on top to get more blacksmithing, still only gives 30%

Ya, level 112, 28%. level 128 29% scoff madness level, 30%. So you can tell from the levels needed to get an uptick, there is huge gaps of nothing.

Just to put that into perspective:
Level 1-112 costs 3.8m xp and gives you 28%
Level 112-128 costs 13.7m xp and gives you 29%
Level 128-145 costs 71m xp and gives you 30%

I understand the concept of diminishing returns but at least throw us a bone.

I can't even fathom being able to get that much crafting XP any suggestions? Thank you so much for posting this i now know not to waste my time or xp over 112. Hell even with a 95% chance in this game you can fail 5x in a row which isn't even real math.

I can only imagine @Scoffer the hours in Elysium. Would it be fair to say you could mine that place blindfolded?
