Quest/Story Rewarded equipment set patterns

Currently there are in game quests like "Armor Fit for A knight" that many people like due to looks.(could also include the virtue armor sets here too). However when you salvage them you get only a simple pattern and not an eternal one so you can only use it once. If you want to re-use the same looks - the way it is now - you can only roll an alt character and re-do quests which is a lot wasted time and definitely not fun. The problem gets more common among the newer players who dont know salvaging and using the pattern in a mid-price equipment is a waste and they wont be able to get another. The simplest solution here is either make the quests repeatable or make the items give out eternal patterns. Please think about it.

 

There are lots of various quests (all the virtue quests, for example) that have one-time armor you can obtain, but the patterns are not eternal. I agree, all quest related armor should be an eternal pattern, or pattern removers should return these patterns to you.

 

Or go right now in the Verdantis Mines and go get a new set?

The quest is one time. The Armor will still drop. Always has. You can of course just buy a set from my vendor, if you don’t want to hassle with all the hours you will need to run around in there to get them......

 

FYI, if you have any piece of the armor on your avatar (equipped or in your inventory) then that piece of armor will not drop.

 

this originally came up in discord regarding throneguard, which is directly from the npc and not a drop, so is, indeed, once per character.

 

And also Silverthorn, Fiona FitzOwen's Crossbow and the Mighty Cudgel of Obvious Truth.

 

You dont get Silverthorn and the Shield cause you get them from quest and as Barugon said happens in others too. I dont think you can get again courage armor either which has a same problem

 

Ah, I wasn't talking about the virtue armor, I was talking about the virtue armor sets (that's why I chose that wording). I.e., the love/courage/truth ones.

Yes only way is pretty much have a second character slot or a second account and redo it which is a silly way to torture players who were new and didnt know they could only have them once.

We shouldnt forget these sets are the first good looking ones and got useful stats on them so newbies are likely to use them and many may try to keep the looks in their new(but not so good for higher level play) crafted sets and fall in the trap of wasting the patterns they can just get once.

 

They do become a commodity players can sell though. Keep that in mind.....
