Teachable? (I'm guessing no, but it's worth asking.)

Also, what are the components/quantities needed?

(Stupid work, wanting me to come in and do my job. Every day! Like I have that kind of free time.)

@Cora Cuz'avich there are a few benefits to working from home. :) I just jumped on to check the price once the game was patched.

WHAT!? 100 boards? I have to like, level a forest every time I need to build a mannequin? That's friggin' ridiculous.

Next time we're told to put up with a dumb mechanic because Immersion, the response needs to be, "But hundred-board mannequins are okay?"

I mean I get it, Crown Store pays the bills, but still.

I hope that creates multiple mannequins if it uses that much material but, I doubt it.

You just saved me bunch of gold on recipes because that is way too much materials for 1 mannequin.

I'm a little surprised they went with boards rather than timbers.. 7-10 timbers seems much more reasonable.

For reference.. a four story row requires 200 timber.. the equivalent of 400 boards.. or 100 boards per story of said greenhouse.

And some scoff at the idea of basing anything on any kind of realism. :) Well it goes both ways folks! :)

Sounds like it's designed to be a bit of a wood sink and/or comparable to the store coto cost.

I kinda expected it too, that's why I asked what the recipe was.

In today's LiveStream it was stated that the reason it takes so many resources to craft the mannequin is to discourage crafting them and encourage us to pay $19 in the store.
They actually came right out and said it.
    Sorry, ain't no way........

That is not quite what they said. They said two things:

    a) That the cost is high to craft AND the cost is high in the store, because it takes exactly as many resources to DRAW a mannequin as it does to DRAW an avatar in the game. I.e., its extremely resource intensive. So they want to discourage people from having them in general (store OR crafted)

    and

    b) That this is the first time they've had an item that directly competes with items in the stores, so they wanted to make the cost high for that reason as well. I think this is the portion you are alluding to. This reasoning of course is utterly false, and can be trivially disproven. For example, the craftable greenhouse row house (competes with the addon store ornate greenhouse), the in-game hourglass (competes with the store ornate hourglass), the in-game moondial (competes with purchased moondials), fireplaces, fences, etc. So the reasoning on (b) is false but (a) at least is valid.

Thanks for adding some enhancements to the crafting system.

When will there be updates for cooking? Will cooking ever get any enhancements, or is it just going to stay this tree-less skill?

I started playing in 2014 to play as a chef and tavern keeper. Its 2019, Im still yearning for Cooking (and Brewing as a separate skill!) to manifest.

I have a feeling that in most villages throughout history, cooks were plenty, and blacksmiths rare. Novia is clearly the opposite ;).

Err, there's always scraps to lessen the material requirements of wood. :)

Ignore this rant about someone reporting the information in a manner that made it look bad.

Actually, I appreciate the fact that they outright said it. They need the capital, that's a reality, and instead of trying to sugar coat it or deny it, they owned it. I respect that...immensely. I'd rather be told, "HELL NO!", and why, to my face, than a mercurial maybe any day!

Besides, they know it's a hot item and that there will be players willing to pay for it. This was the right move on their part; from a revenue generation perspective. I have no qualms with it, they were fair. They didn't make it a cash shop only purchase, they made it craftable...pain in the ass maybe...but still doable.
