I guess then, oddly enough, I should unlearn ranged spec (keeping light armor) and dump that XP into tactics... that does seem.. off.

 

I believe air shield's possible 0.1 transfer rate and death shields insane damage mitigation and damage healing - which has nothing to do with attunement so anyone can do it equally as well -should also be nerfed but Chris had already mentioned this as well multiple times.

And once again, I'm saying that charged shot is OP and needs nerfed, not all of archery. If the zero focus infinite amount of quick 1000+ charged attack gets nerfed, other crappy skills in archery - of which have a maximum number of glyphs and use focus - can easily be buffed so it is still competitive.

 

What amount of dexterity do you need for 0.1 transfer?

 

I have to say, I do agree it is dumb that it makes more sense for me as an archer to *not* specialize in ranged than it does *to* specialize in ranged. That indicates something's very wrong.

 

That is mainly for crits though, and is valid for most physical weapons, polearms being the other big player in the tactics spec team, as they both get the most return off a crit, having a passive for crit multipliers.

 

It depends on your attunement and your shield of air skill level as well as dex.

 

What would the secondary spec be in that case? Heavy armor?

 

I have told people over and over, tactics spec is better then all the weapons specs because of the crit damage + on zerker stance. Maybe people will start to listen to me now?

This is also why I saw constatine armor over bronze cuz zerker stance takes all your damage resistance away anyways AND nickle is WAY cheaper then tin.

 

Depends, for an archer, Air attunement for the Airs embrace Crit buff, for a Polesrms guy, Earth for the strength buff or Polearms for the extra damage, but if you look at Ozzys pictures, he has Tactics and Taming and gets insane crits with his Polearms

 

Now this depends. almost all of my alts are tactics life spec, get the dps from tactics then life spec for survivability. BUt earth tactics is nice cuz the shield of crystal spec bonus give avoidance that can beyond the only 2 avoidance skill limit AND the 6 stack str of earth for more str. Air can be nice as well to get higher dex, shield of air so you can uyse brttle ring and becuase you worry about focus and not health its NP.

 

Thanks. This has been a good discussion. I'm learning all the ways that my build sucks. It really upsets me that it's far more powerful to just use free-attack than waste points in the active ranged skills.

[edit] Also, there seems to be some weirdness with getting crits using blind. For instance, I get crits using free-attack or auto-attack but not with the skills. I also don't get crits from behind. That's on a training dummy though.

 

ya, so I got a bunch of people testing it right now, and OMG its all wacked. I cannot figure it out, some people can some cant, and dont worry about skills, remember you dont need them now LOL.

But dont forget, unless this falls in Chris's Changes in a fairytale world like extra chaos spells or such, Air shield, Death shield and archery are getting tweaked, so dont build around them unless you dont mind changing again next release, btw Release 69 lul

 

Guess maybe I'll wait to respec until R69 then, I'd hate to drop ranged specialization and then find it matters next release.

 

when he see that 60% of the players are archers, that have no skills in the tree, it might give him a warning .
