Curious to see how it compares in CPU usage & GPU usage to my Intel i7-4770K from 2013 & nvidia 980 (4GB DDR5) and 32GB system memory. This is standing in front of the Oracle in New Brittanian Market, doing nothing else:

    CPU: 50%
    GPU: 73.8%

This seems rather ridic to me...

One release of SOTA literally caused the fans on my graphics card to melt and I had to replace them. This release is worse in term of cpu/gpu utilization than last release, and I really don't get it.

Laptop + eGpu. No issues here beside the normal issues with this kind of config. The rx 5700 xt is actually doing much better than my former rtx 2060 in SotA. No idea why.

Same here. I can be playing Witcher 3, Steel Division II or some other graphics intensive game, but as soon as I launch SOTA, last couple of releases, my computer sounds like a helicopter taking off.

Lol and most games don't even come close to having to load what this game does. ;) but yeah I'm sure it is frustrating for those who have lagging and loading issues.

I wonder how my older Asus G73S Laptop is able to handle the game for a while, until he shuts down cause of overheat.

My main pc isn't bad imho, AMD Threadripper + Nvidia 2080ti , 16Bg RAM.
In some zones i have 30-40 fps :(

What can I tell you. It's an AMD stock card. So my card alwas sounds like a vac-cleaner no matter the workload *shrugs* ^^

    Hi Majoria,

This isn't really about what's necessary to load for the game to play. This is about the ongoing CPU & GPU usage while the game is running. It literally pulls more current through the GPU and CPU than top-tier games that run in 4K at 144Hz, which SOTA comes nowhere near to doing. And it's not because of the housing or other bits, either. There's something fundamentally wrong with SOTA resource utilization. I'm pretty certain this release is what literally fried my wife's CPU last week.

What I'm looking for is to see what sort of CPU/GPU usage people are seeing from their systems. As soon as I get some time later this week, I'll put together some specific coordinates for people to grab measurements from if they're interested in participating, so a variety of scenes and the world map can be tested. There's little reason, for example, for the CPU/GPU to be doing much of anything on the world map.

Ah. Didn't get that one. But going to look it up later today. Got a vendor in NBM to refill anyway.

    Allright, here we go:
    NBM
Rx 5700 xt running on 80% avg.
    i7-8750H running on 75% avg.
    Ram running on 84% avg.

75% CPU and 80% GPU? I really think there's something desperately wrong with this release, resource utilization wise.

I'm with Mishikal on this, I run an Intel 8809 and an AMD Vega M GH. Average 50-65% cpu and 99% GPU

If anyone wants to send me a high-end test machine for a 4 year extended test I'd be happy to do the work! :p

I can't say I'm having the same experience (running in 4k, GSync with highest settings) - averages taken from Hwinfo64

    AMD Ryzen 2700
    32 GB ram
    Nvidia 2080 Ti (11gb)

    NBM
    CPU - 44%
Ram - 40% (RAM usage might be a little high, considering I have 32 gb)
    GPU - 60%

Haven't done extensive testing in other areas, but I'll take a look and get the averages after running around Novia for a few hours

I think I'll need to come up with sets of specific spots so they can be comparable across hardware. Plus will need to note video settings, to really get good comparisons.

    60% of a 2080TI seems obscene to me. ;)

Yeah, that's a good idea. 60% I'm actually not surprised, Unity is horrible.

I have a new system since my old one kept getting CPU overheating, and my wife's was permanently destroyed (Fairly sure due to overheating caused by SOTA).
    New system stats:
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz (16) System RAM: 32685
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GPU RAM: 11049
    SotA.Win.64.1027.Date.08.07.19

    Here are my perf measurements.

#1) Standing on the world map where you appear when exiting Upper Tears:
    CPU: 29.1%, GPU 86.2%

#2) In New Britannian Market, in the Oracle building, in front of the Oracle:
    CPU: 44.2%, GPU: 91.5%

#3) Inside Etceter Crag Mine, at its entrance:
    CPU: 18.2%, GPU: 43.0%

#4) In Crag Foothills, having exited Etceter Craig Mine:
    CPU: 18.1%, GPU: 60.1%

I find the fact that standing on the World Map (which is nearly entirely statically drawn) takes 86.2% of the GPU astonishing. I can understand why standing in a PoT consumes a lot of resources, given lighting, deco, etc. I think Port could be well served by finding out why there is such massive resource consumption on the world map given that I would think that overall that should be the least resource intensive scenario. I do wish I could test the world map in the old SPO mode that they nuked, but still network traffic for player locations on the map shouldn't be causing such a massive graphic consumption.
