Ornate Vile Longbow: WTF?!

They don't need to be dumbed down to less than standard non-crafted gear you can loot off a mob to avoid the 'pay to win issue'. I believe that's the main gist of the complaint here. It's only pay to win if it's superior to normal loot, not equal to.

 

I think the pay to win thing they think is the unbreakable property when store bought, which makes you benefit from now having to repair gear at a same level

 

Durability still drops. It's just as much of a resource drain via repairs as anything else. Only difference is it doesn't need major repairs. And if that's the case, how is it that founder gear isn't dumbed down as much? It can be argued that we paid for that as well. If nothing else, they should have one standard and stick to it.

My personal take is.. they probably thought it wouldn't be a big deal as most would use it as intended. Not many players are content with NPC standard quality, "unbreakable" or not.

 

Even the basic gear you buy from combat merchants has some small amount of material bonuses. The stuff you get from the crown store does not.
