    Sure, from things like the +30/-10 dex blessing, the +5 dex blessing from devotionals, the +10 dex buff from food, the dex buff spell, and then having 160 in shield of air and 140 in the rest of the air tree so your attunement is high... I.e., not gear.

    Yes balance the darn gear and not our skills if that is the issue to begin with.....

    Yeah. It's very frustrating to keep getting kneecapped because other people are way better than I am. Somebody else gets ridiculous results due to the time and effort they've put in, and so I don't get to do today what I was barely able to do yesterday.

    (And I'm not complaining that other people are awesome while I'm not.)

    But it wasn't. I'd just gotten my transfer ratio down to .5 by increasing my attunement combined with the buffs available in game. :/ No special gear outside of a necklace of cautious precision I'd gotten from a yellow bundle. And it isn't upgraded in any way.

    For the Air shield nerd, we are talking about a 40% nerf across the board for the DeX stat. This means it is way more noticeable at higher levels compared to low levels, because 40% of 16.7 is way smaller than 40% of 100, and we are only talking about the contribution from the DeX stat (which is mainly from gear, not from skills). This means the people who got hurt A LOT are the high end players.

    As for the ranged nerf, it is a 10% damage nerf on the shot, only on charged attacks, on the last tick. This does simply means that the max hit will be slightly lower, and should not be huge in impact. When I tried the build, a charged attack without crit would usually be around 160 to 240 damage, that means I would hit for about 144 to 216 now, not a huge deal, and not a deal breaker in most cases. To compensate for this, about 10 extra levels in the first innate and a few levels in draw strength and it should be already recovered, you will be back to where you were in no time. Those hit by this the most are those like Girlsname who had invested 150-160 levels in the first innate and around 130 in the other ones, that's where it is gonna be harder to recover following the nerf.

    Enchantments and masterworking can give you a significant boost to dexterity as well, and that stacks with everything else you mentioned. Air attunement above 100 is also much easier to get from gear than from skills.

    The philosophy of diminishing returns does seem to break down frequently in this game. More often than not people who stack to an extreme see massive payoffs, in opposition to the design goals the devs keep stating. A big culprit there is the damage threshold from enemy resistances and regeneration.

    My contribution to dex stat comes primarily from skills and buffs, not gear. ;)

    The problem is that he's making a generalized adjustment to bring the outliers in without any thought to how it will impact the rest.

    My transfer ratio has gone from .5 to .7 on air shield

    The biggest change seems to be charged shot. So far I haven't gotten above ~450 crits, when before I could crit ~800+ pretty regularly.

    That is scary!

    So we all should be Fire Mages? The build that can play solo against high end mobs at the lowest adventuring experience level?

    Can any other build other than Fire Mage solo everything at as low a level as a Fire Mage can?
