1st you made me make a tamer now I gotta make a bard. Really... bringing in provocation, man your killing me this was one of my favorite skills in uo it will be interesting how this new tree will play with the other trees, I’m stoked!

you said attack anything I’m hoping I can target it like true provocation but even as you described it I’d be happy.

I cannot understate how FUN this skill was in UO, this is big.

It will be interesting to see what skills there will be for sure and how it will work with other schools.

Gotta say taming + bard could make for some awesome party mechanics.

Hah! As with everything in our skill system, this will just be another tree for you guys to choose from. As I stated though, the focus will be mostly on things that supplement a group rather than stuff to augment a soloer.

I don't believe that @Chris said anything about provoking NPCs to fight each other.

It sounds pretty damn close if you ask me we will have to see how it ends up!

    Chris-
    • Targeted animal frenzy (changes faction of one targeted animal to be attack everything)

    • that’s provocation lite if you could target what ur intended target was it would be provocation. Maybe with spec @Chris ?

    • also as skill levels to include weak minded humanoids etc. spec at 80 kobalds and trolls spec at 90 elves and liches :) Ohh and for pvp @100 skill change the targets for 5 seconds with diminishing returns ofcource whahah

Love UO 's bard skills. I cannot wait for any of them to be in SotA. :) that is online and offline modes.

Sadly we see once again that click bait titles get dev attention while other important topics go without response.

Glad to see excitement about the Bard though!

I think they read all the threads, this one was a lighthearted post and no one was slinging mud and other things until now. I also think this post benifits from timing since He just made a post about the new class.

To your point I do believe it would not be a bad thing to have more dev touches on threads (it showed they cared and even understood the issues). In the early early days they were very good at it.

I was REALLY hoping for a Bard Class for Shroud reminiscent of UO as well.
Sadly, the skills @Chris revealed are far from that.

*scraps any plans of making a specialised Bard in Shroud* :(

right I hope Chris will see what he described is a littler under whelming and can deliver something people want instead. @Chris

I have no issue with a support class... as long as it’s a GOOD support class and not a waste of skills and time.

Add a armor preservation buff because the t5 and t6 player dungeons shreds tanks armor it’s pretty terrible and please do provoke right and have it actually scale based on skill with a fail chance sorta like what taming has. Mana regen is ok but not as a channel type skill.

I remember seeing something like a guy summoning a daemon in UO and provoking some mobs to fight it (correct me if I'm wrong and that wasn't a thing, it's been a while). I said to myself, I said Astirian, you're gonna be that guy some day! It did not eventuate. (Nor being the dude that gated dragons around the joint - man... Ah to be young and impressionable again, what a time to be alive!)

Tell you what though, I did have a dinky little boat I'd go treasure hunting with and my very own tiny log cabin, a mighty fine UO career I'm very proud of to this day!

Interesting, at least for group focused players.
