Is jumping to escape roots still a thing? I never escape roots by jumping except in a rare escape from spider webs. I notice no focus loss either. Yesterday when rooted by a Reaper, I spammed the space key twelve times to no effect.

I think root escape chance is tied to dexterity (or strength, not sure which does which anymore) so maybe your stat is too low and it doesnt work?

And maybe the math got broken with a recent change, happens!

If i remember correctly Root Strength has been changed/increased a while ago.

I have plenty of Strength and Earth Attunement and can not break the Root from a Reaper anymore

I am running with 120 dex, 200+ str. The change in root escape happened many releases ago, but has become irritating lately. Without logging in to check, my earth attunement is 139+

Edit after logging on confirming stats: Str 230, Dex 102, earth attune 99

Use Blink or Chaotic Step to get away.

I always liked Chaotic step and am very glad it's still useful. Been gone a while and have a lot to catch up on. Good to see some things haven't changed :)
