Global vendor poll

Recreating @Chris' poll that he did on the Friday stream... because not everybody was able to watch.

 

This poll does not include enough possible options.
If you are going to put up a poll, please include more of the options players want.

Such as:

- The current vendor search system.
- A vendor search system where the vendor data is accessed through Lua.
- A vendor search system where prices are not listed.
- Town based vendor search from town based NPCs.
- Regional vendor search from town based NPCs.
- Universal vendor search from town based NPCs.
- Universal vendor search from any vendor or bank.
- Universal vendor search and sales from any vendor or bank. (Auction House)

[edit] It probably doesn't matter anyway because it looks like he's set on just doing the easy thing, which is Lua.

 

I voted for one of the choices, since that's all offered atm. Reserve the right to change vote if Chris reconsiders after reading posts on comments here in the forum. I take affront at doing business over Discord. We don't all trust that platform and refuse to load it onto our computers.

 

A Global Market will kill ALL VendorCitys aorund Novia

So ... a Global search will be ok, but a global Market would be a desaster for crafters town, Novia Market, and so on ... sorry... pls dont do that

 

Don't see a panem et circenses option.

What exactly is the difference between Global Search and Global Market ?

 

Search just tells you where it is, market allows you to buy it without actually going there.

 

Oh, heck no on the Global Market then.
Global Search lists all and the vendor it's on. Then you must go to the town to make the purchase.
That way you can attract people to your town by having a good vendor, and people get to see new places and meet others... Much better, IMO.

 

I'm a global search fan as long as prices are listed. Saves me time looking for my needle in many haystacks but doesn't kill vendor towns the way a global market would.

 

Barugon, out of interest, what where the results from the stream votes?

Global search with optional opt-out. The best option.

Global Market will just benefit the whales and push prices up even more. Although Global Search would also produce a price hike, being abe to opt-out would be good way to make the whales work for their effeort.
Global Market due to the low number of players is just not something fesable as there isnt enough offer to keep prices competitive.

 

Someone once said "Either add it or don't , Don't pawn the work off on the players" that was very well put and i hole heartily agree with it. this is a fun game and i like a lot of the old school "features" but we need to adopt some of the new school if it cannot be done its okay to say so there is no harm in the truth id rather hear we cannot do it or don't know how to do it rather than hey! lets do it on Lua which will end up not correctly updated or even probably working correctly i see people reboot constantly because of some Lua issue... i've talked to a lot of people who have left due to lack of modernization i get we all get stuck in our ways but we need to realistic we need more players or this will just shutdown at some point probably sooner rather than later which would require all of us to be more receptive of modern things also i think we should fix all the crashing issues before we would do this or add things for pvp or anything else but that's just one guys opinion.

 

It was overwhelmingly for Global Vendor Search, Chris showed the numbers briefly and commented about the large majority.

 

Just interesting to see the overwhelming difference here is heading towards global market over global search, which together with the steam votes would maybe place global search and global market at 50/50 votes over the other two options and more interesting that there is zero interest in the lua @Chris was leaning towards.

I think that shows how important it is to allow these polls on multiple community areas, not just on stream.

 

I agree with you, @Mylady ‘Gin Gin Darlin and I think the difference here is that there was no clear distinction here in the OP between global market and global search, but Chris made the difference clear on his stream which I watched.

 

I have not voted because this poll does not include the options I want.

Polls can be good to get player feedback,
if the poll clearly explains all the options.

But really, the devs should not use polls to decide what to do.
Especially when there are such a wide variety of player opinions.

Instead, they should read through the player discussions,
weigh the pros and cons of all the options,
and pick the option(s) that will make the game more fun and interesting.

The final decision rests with the devs,
and they should do what is best for the game.

 

Frankly, I'm surprised that so many people have voted for "Global market" because it would severely degrade a major aspect of this game, which is having and decorating a house and lot.

 

why not have both commission free vendor and a new introduce global market vendor,

player can use search tool for the global market or spend hours browsing underground vendors.

all players and catnip happy.
