[Fixed] Crashing after patch

    Well it Sunday (April 12 2020) and I log on, had to wait for the the latest patch to download. As I was walking around a player own town my game froze then crashed; for the rest of the entire day I logged on and crashed constantly. What is going on? Is there another patch to fix this issue? What do I need to do? Thank you.

    Constantly crashes when I go near my home in Ordinis Mortis. As long as I stay in the outskirts where I port in from the outside I can still play.

    One of my guild mates helped my solved the issue (or a work around). What fixed it for me was un-checking "Cull Interior Decorations and Aggressive Decoration Loading". I was finally able to walk freely around my POT and finally get into my home.
    I hope this helps other players after the latest patch. Thank you.

    that's a good find for a workaround! ...but if there's a specific decoration that's crashing you when it loads, you're still gonna crash if you get close enough to load it. maybe don't visit your friends' houses in the general area until the problem item is identified. you're not the only one this has been happening to and their first stab at fixing an item that was throwing exceptions in the log didn't solve it.

    None of these workarounds seem to work for me sadly, I can log in sometimes crashed on start up multiple times today. and lag has been going on for weeks, Its so bad after a few minutes im down to 1 FPS and can hardly even click to close the game. Whatever it is it lags out my whole system noticed while watching Twitch on top monitor that it lags when the game starts dropping FPS. I redid my whole system Bios,check clock speeds, updated all drivers, fresh installed the game, check network, firewalls, routers, bench marked my PC (top 3% for high end single GPU PC's on 3D mark) etc etc. nothing else other than Shroud is giving me issues, even turned everything to lowest settings possible. Its really the only game I want to play, especially since I just got a town and am trying to get ready for it.

    Thanks! I will try! I already tried disabling Aggressive Decoration Loading previously to no avail ---- however - ALSO disabling 'Cull interior decorations' did the trick -- my CTD is now mitigated. They BOTH need to be disabled.

    The crashing to desktop is happening again. So back to square one. Does anyone have any work around? Any devs around?

    Okay I selected "Depth of Field". Still a bit of stop and go; but able to get access into my (POT) home without crashing. So Hopefully this will help until the devs put in a patch.... Until next day...

    Turning both of those off helps but I still get crashes... it takes a little longer, or perhaps I get closer to the bugged item before it occurs.... My current theory is that the crash is happening when I get onto one of my lots that's very heavily deco'd. I'll confirm that.

    @shypwreck - thanks for the heads up

    @Alley Oop - I agree - it mitigates a little but it's not a fix. I can now do _some_ things in my POT, but cerain parts still crash it.... with a little luck I can use this 'fix' to more closely determine what is causing it.

    @Echondas - Glad you're in a better place my friend. you may want to also try to roam around a little to see if you can find a way to get it to crash. That way you may be able to narrow it down to a lot, if not a deco.

    @Ravalox - I know you guys can't repro my issue. Would you be able to try with Aggressive deco and interior culling enabled? If you haven't already that is.

    That's bittersweet - I'm glad that it's reproducible (albeit a little better). Sad for anyone that' still getting crashes though :(

    Since the Silver Serpent Wand thing get 'fixed', this is the one error I get every crash.
    Not sure if that's just a generic crash or not though.

    Constantly crashing back to desk top after patch ...76! Unable to get to my POT lot. Stuck. I can still hang around the world map and the outskirts of my POT, still stop and go. I really could use some help.
