Oh yeah! Did a double Kickstarter for it. Can't remember why they did that. Anyways, thanks for mentioning Hero-U, because I may have missed it, as many Ultima players missed Shroud.

Ditto! I only came across SOTA when a former Counselor of mine found me in RL after prolly not talking for 10 years and told me about it -- I would have kickstarted it or backed it, if I knew about it before then. I didn't know about Rogue to Redemption until I found it by accident , so I couldn't back it - but I backed Summer Daze. Now I need to replay Rogue to Redemption and try another romance path..

Oh - and I'm sure all you Sierra fans out there know that there was a fan remake of Trial by Fire (Hero's Quest 2 / Quest for Glory 2 .. thanks Mattel)

I still have a bunch of these from the early 90's in a box in my closet. :) I wish I had an old computer to play them along with Ultima 4-5-6.

If you loved the old SSI Gold Box games, if you didn’t know, the Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventure engine/game (that’s the engine they used for the Gold Box Games) still has an active modding community.

For a 27 year old game, that’s honestly amazing.

They need to get this dude on the Journal/Dialogue/Questing UI!

I was a huge fan of the VGA remake of 1 and of #4! (Even if it was a little buggy :))

I still remember when Sierra called me from a meeting to get extra details from a bug report I sent them on their BBS for QFG1 VGA remake - something to do with crashing the game around the faeries / mushroom patch - that was pretty cool.

My next fun one was when I figured out an item dupe bug and some other game breaking issue in Ultima 7 the Black Gate, and I called OSI and spent like 30 minutes on the phone with someone explaining the bug.

I remember being excited when I got a free extra game box when the new set of U7 floppies with the updated version came.

If there are any Lucasfilm/Lucasarts games fans out there -- I found a fan sequel to Zak McKracken a few days ago, and played through it on English language hard. It's nostalgic, has easter eggs, cameos, etc - but the writing and dialog is a bit lengthy and a lot of the VO is a bit cheesy/needs better sound editing. I'd give it probably 3.5/5 -- definitely "worth playing" IMHO.

None needed my friend, I am just busting your hump - I am happy you are enjoying or will soon enjoy the awesome remake they did :)

Don't forget to check out Hero-U! I am thinking of replaying it again for the 3rd time and putting combat on extreme/hard, since they just released a small patch - and then they have a sequel coming in the near future.

Have you played Thimbleweed Park? It feels like it could have come out in the 90s from Lucasarts.
