I found a taming necklace as loot..

    A taming necklace with a creature on it. If I read taming posts, I understand taming necklaces are no longer current (correct?). My question is, is the necklace still usable to summon the pet? Do I need a whistle as well?
    The creature is a large grey wolf. Would I be able to handle it with taming skill 1?
    I read the Beginners Guide to Taming (thank you!!) , but it mentions both necklaces and whistles. Confused!
    Can somebody help clear up the confusion?

    In order to summon a pet from a necklace, you have to use the Summoning skill.
    Put the necklace on and then mouse-over it on your character. It will tell you how much Summoning skill is required to summon it.
