Taxed place anywhere water Deeds/Tax free pot water deeds
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/f...-water-deeds-tax-free-pot-water-deeds.162609/

    ----------

Below is a good solution to fix the shortage of place anywhere water lot deeds, while still honoring the promise to keep Founder deeds exclusive to the backers.

    --- The Issue:

Back when SotA was getting started, the backers were promised that their Founder deeds would have exclusive rights to claim water lots in NPC Towns and Player Run Towns (PRTs).

In the past few years, Player Owned Towns (POTs) have greatly expanded, so the number of available lots has greatly increased.

Many players have used their Founder deeds to claim lots on land or in POTs, so there are not enough Founder deeds left to claim most of the water lots in NPC Towns and PRTs.

Since there are not enough Founder deeds left, players can't get deeds to claim the water lots in NPC Towns and PRTs, so a bunch of nice water lots are sitting empty in those towns.

Since the backers were promised that Founder deeds would have the exclusive ability to claim water lots in NPC Towns and PRTs, no other deed types can claim those lots.

    --- The Solution:

Give "Founder Deed Upgrade Vouchers" to all the backer accounts, with the number of Vouchers depending on the pledge level.

Each Voucher can be redeemed to convert one Deed into a Founder Deed.
(With a Crowns fee for the upgrade.)

    ----------

To determine how many Vouchers every backer should receive at each tier level, choose a reasonable number of Vouchers for the base level (Ancestor), multiply by the value difference for each pledge tier level, and round up to the next whole number.

For example, if backers at the Ancestor pledge level receive 10 Vouchers:

Ancestor $275 - receive 10 Founder Deed Upgrade Vouchers
    Navigator $375 - receive $375/$275*10 = 14 Vouchers
    Developer $450 - receive $450/$275*10 = 17 Vouchers
    Citizen $550 - receive $550/$275*10 = 20 Vouchers
    Edelmann Digital $570 - receive $570/$275*10 = 21 Vouchers
    Edelmann $575 - receive $575/$275*10 = 21 Vouchers
    Knight $800 - receive $800/$275*10 = 30 Vouchers
    Knight Marshal $1,200 - receive $1,200/$275*10 = 44 Vouchers
    Lord $1,600 - receive $1,600/$275*10 = 59 Vouchers
    Lord Marshal $2,200 - receive $2,200/$275*10 = 80 Vouchers
    Baron $3,200 - receive $3,200/$275*10 = 117 Vouchers
    Baron 2 $3,700 - receive $3,700/$275*10 = 135 Vouchers
    Baron 3 $3,800 - receive $3,800/$275*10 = 139 Vouchers
    Duke $5,300 - receive $5,300/$275*10 = 193 Vouchers
    Lord of the Manor $11,000 - receive $11,000/$275*10 = 400 Vouchers
    Lord of the Manor 2 $12,000 - receive $12,000/$275*10 = 437 Vouchers

The numbers above seem about right to me. Issuing those amounts of Upgrade Vouchers to all backer accounts would satisfy the Founder deed upgrade demand for quite a while. :)

    ----------

The process for upgrading property deeds to Founder level would work the same way that other deed upgrades currently work, but would require a Voucher in the player's inventory, along with the Crowns for the upgrade fee.

To upgrade a deed to a Tax Free Founder deed, the player would right click the deed and select the Founder upgrade option. Completing the upgrade would remove the Crowns fee and Voucher from the player's inventory.

This solution would honor the promise to keep Founder deeds exclusive to the backers,
and would solve the place anywhere water lot deed shortage.

The backers would get deed Vouchers that they can use, trade, or sell.
The developers would get Crown sales from the deed upgrades.
The players would get deeds to place where they want.
It would be a win-win for everyone!

    Greetings all
I have a simpler solution although it does address the PA deeds. Currently Taxed POT water lot deeds are twice the price of the Taxed POT land deeds. To make the water lots more enticing the cost (way out of line in pricing IMO) could be decreased or the Tax on the water lots could be half of the same size land deed. I prefer a decrease in the purchase price instead of the long term decrease in the Tax amount. This would not impact the uniqueness of the Founder Tax Free deeds because they can still claim Water lots in both POT and NPC Towns.

    As an eample:
The current cost of a POT Village size land deed is 5900 COTOs (when not on sale) and the Tax on a Village lot on land or water is 1000 gold/2 COTOs per day.
The current cost of a POT Village size Water deed is 13900 COTOs (when not on sale) and the Tax on a Village lot on land or water is 1000 gold/2 COTOs per day.

We could drop the price of the Village size Water deed to 9000 COTOs and keep the Tax the same 1000 gold/2 COTOs a day
    or
We could change the price of the Water size deed to 10900 (more in line with the pricing on the other water deeds) and change the Tax to 500 gold/1 COTO per day.

Easier to manage, we don't need to worry about changing the upgrade option, and the Founder deeds are still unique.

Would be good if they also doubled the amount of lots you can have from 3 to 6.

I think the game needs to add taxed pa water deeds and tax free pot water deeds.. Founder deeds will still be unique that you cant make a tax free pa water deed! and this is a way for the game to make some more $$$ =D

Agreed; this would fill in the missing bits fairly well.

I do wish there were better ways to do trades in the game; some of the Founders who are sitting on POTs with their deeds might be willing to swap them for Tax Free POT Water Lot Deeds if the incentive was right. Then the empty lots would be able to fill up again.

In 2021, there were several deed updates that helped improve access to water lots.

But I still think it would be nice to have some way to upgrade deeds to Founder Tax Free Place Anywhere (PA) Water Lot deeds. (While providing some sort of compensation for the Founders, such as my voucher idea posted above.)

Here is the deed update info from the release announcements:

    ----------

    Release 88, March 25, 2021
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=128465

Deed limits for all NPC towns have been lifted. Previously players were limited to 3 lots in any non-Player-Owned Town per account, now players may settle anywhere as often as they like!

    ----------

    Release 93, August 26, 2021
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=129890

Property deeds have been renamed to better indicate their functionality as well as to improve sorting results in inventories. Also, the tooltip descriptions have been revamped to better describe their functionality and how to perform an upgrade. No-trade deeds now clearly indicate that they are no-trade in their display names and tooltip descriptions, which also is indicated in the upgrade context menu if listed.

    ----------

    Release 94, September 30, 2021
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=130308

Lot deeds can now be upgraded through 2 upgrade channels instead of the 6 channels previously available. So instead of upgrades showing just 2 options from each possible channel, the system now selects the next 10 possible upgrades above the current value of the deed being upgraded. Now, “Founder Deeds” and “Everything Else” are the only remaining channels utilized.

The final lot deed price adjustments in a 6 month series of price reductions has been applied to all applicable deeds. Store entries for deeds were updated to new deed name format. All non-water store deeds now come with a starter house. All foyers and dungeon entrances which were added to deed store entries have been removed.

For players wishing to see the values for deeds to determine upgrade costs, this information is on display in the (Player) Artifacts, Gems, Consumables, Misc Info spreadsheet.

    ----------

    Release 95, October 28, 2021
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=130616

Deed, City (PA, Tax Free, Water) can now be upgraded to Deed, Keep (PA, Tax Free, Water), which can in turn be upgraded to Deed, Castle (PA, Tax Free, Water).

    ----------

    Release 97, December 16, 2021
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=131012

Player-Run Towns: These towns have received a minimal complement of NPCs and crafting stations near their default entrances, and all Player-Run Towns allow for POT only deeds to be utilized:

    - Aldhaven
    - Estercove
    - Greyacre
    - Highiron
    - Holtrot
    - Kingswood
    - Lochfield
    - Northshire
    - Owl’s Wash
    - Port Mirren
    - Ravensend
    - Redmill
    - Righ Inis
    - Shadowmist
    - The Brave Coast
    - Valemark
    - Westhollow

Player Villages: All “player village” scenes have been reclassified as Player-Run Towns which enables placement of POT only deeds within their borders.

    I can say.

If we could buy or upgrade to a TF water deeds. I would need to buy more deeds and set up more lots.

I guess ever Jade Town would need a guild fishing shack.

I was under the impression they were only available in founder packages when the game was starting up. It was an exclusive item.

The taxed water deeds are a compromise. Am I mistaken?

If I recall that was removed quite some time ago.

I seem to recall that is when i moved all my lots off other accounts and consolidated them all to 1 account.

Indeed the compromise was to add Taxable Water Lots, adding TF water lots would be seen as an impingement on the exclusivity the Founders had on the Water lots.

Either it is exclusive or it's not.

If it is then there isn't much to discuss.
