Stockings very difficult to place

Christmas Stockings are very hard to place and the allowed locations are very limited. Please allow other places to hang them especially on mantels, walls, etc. Thank you.

 

I can confirm this - you need to rotate the stockings in a very specific way to make them place on the edge of a fireplace.

 

Yeah, I was finally able to with the assistance of another player. But question is: Why? Why make it so precise of a placement, and why not allow them to be hung in other locations such as walls, banisters, etc? Thanks for checking it out.

 

To confirm what Echondas said, I was only able to hang the stockings on a fireplace when the fireplace is facing east/west.
