I’m not sure how recent it is, but thanks for adding “ore” to tin nickel tungsten etc. Makes it so much nicer to find and move the metals from my inventory to the bank by filtering on “ore”

Looking forward to more of these sort of adjustments.

Yeah that was actually nice. Can actually see now all ores in a chest. Thank you for that!

That was put in last release. Elgarion mentioned it in last week's Friday stream (on Thursday)

And, yes ... long overdue tweak and makes it much easier to dump my nightly ore proceeds into my smelting chest.

    Shucks :p

It came in as a player suggestion from @Xee . If anyone spots weird names that could be changed to improve sorting etc, please provide me a detailed PM and I'll probably get the fix done if it seems like a good idea and won't mess up anything :)

maybe something similar for the gems?
the other one like this might be be gems. I don’t know about others, but I sort them all into one bag and “fragment” works to find the fragments, but the whole citrine, rubies, amethysts etc could maybe have “gem” in the name for easy filtering?

that would confuse with the socketable ones, but maybe "whole emerald" to match "emerald fragments"?

Fish are my irritant. Perhaps the name fish after each type would sort them together in the inventory. It doesn't sound right, but Trout fish, Salmon fish, Marlin fish, Peacock bass fish, and etc. would at least be grouped in inventory.

Oh ya, those gems have been annoying to filter for in my inventory. Yes, on my to-do list :) Good one :)

How about "Gemstone" to distinguish them from those that can be socketed? So "Citrine Fragment" and Citrine Gemstone".

Whilst I get renaming is easy it's lexically awkward as the fish example shows a more robust solution though more work would be to filter by attributes.

@Elgarion I would suggest "raw" or "uncut" for gems that are not yet made socketable, and maybe "cut" for those that have. So:

    Emerald Gem Fragments
    Raw Emerald Gem
    Cut Gaiaism Gem
    Cut Gaiaism Jewel
    Cut Gaiaism Gem of Warding
    Cut Gaiaism Jewel of Warding

...etc. Then you'd be able to sort by gem type, only fragments, only raw gems, or only cut gems.

An idea... not sure how hard it would be to implement:

You already have the inventory tabs that filter based on item type. Could you allow us to create custom tabs that we can name and select items from a master list (a la buy orders on the vendors) that would be part of that "type"?

So, I could create tabs as follows:

    • "Junk": Select all the spoons/forks/other 1 gp items that I would just sell to a vendor
    • "Salvage" Select all the rusty/ragged/dirty armor pieces and shoddy weaponry
    • "Metals": basically all the smeltables... ores, fragments, etc.
    • "Reagents": Same as metals, but alchemical reagents

You get the idea. This would put the control in our hands, make inventory management after an adventure run MUCH less of a chore, and ultimately create less work for you devs, I would think.

I do like the Cut concept, but it's a pretty short word for filters and it doesn't apply to fragments (uncut) since they are combined, not cut, to make things. So, I kept it simple -- all names stayed the same, except I added (Refined Gemstone) or (Unrefined Gemstone) after it so filters should be pretty easy and captures everything. I hope this helps :) I already find it handy on the Unity side for searches :p It'll patch in before too long.

An alternative for Fish that might not sound as odd as adding the keyword “fish” might be to add the keyword “fresh”

    Fresh cod
    fresh salmon
    fresh sunfish
    etc

but anything that helps filter works for me.

For me, the more important for fish is to differentiate the dated trophy fish (“Prize fishname”?) and allow them to be sorted by “length” and “date caught”.

Except that sort of defeats the purpose, because sorting by "REFINED" would also bring up "unREFINED" gemstones.

Not if you search for "(refin" which would vary from "(unref" ;)
