There is going to be a complete reworking of Shield of Air for the next release. It's my hope that the dex bonus will be completely removed and the skill itself reworked so that it contributes a bit more to the transfer rate.

Finally someone said it. Thanks for being that honest.

    PS:
Why not slightly nerf the top and slightly buff the weakest until they find middle ground?
It's not black & white, I'm sure there's conpromise to be made.

On top of that, the progress is almost unlimited in this game. Eventually there will be top players soloing Spindle Extreme. What to do then? Nerf all the players ad aeternum making their progress worthless?

It's not. There's a clear and present cap. Hit 200. Done.

That's literally now. There's a ton of us soloing Spindel Extreme. Hourly. Every day.

That's why the word "almost" is in there

Nerf them to not be able to. Wait a couple of months, they will be soloing it once again because of progression. Nerf 'em again?

Nah, I think you're the one who doesn't get it, but it doesn't matter, worse case scenario, the game will become great but you won't stick around to experience it because the game won't be easy enough for you anymore.

What about this for a suggestion? Do away with DEX entirely when calculating FTR. Like every other skill, relate it to the skill level.
And engineer it like other skills - getting to lvl 40 is dead easy, 80 not so bad, 100 harder, 140-150 Herculean, above 160 near impossible.
Pick a level where FTR of 0.4 should sit, and write the formula so it flattens off significantly after that, and becomes perfectly flat down the track.
That should have a similar effect to a hard cap, while allowing lower level players the benefit of some protection.

Watching now, so far, zero Shadow Spiders, Wolves, or Bears killed.

You know who can kill all the same stuff, AND kill the Shadows? I'll give you hint: It rhymes with "archers".

I see the point you're making when I said "fire mages can kill ghosts only" I guess I should've not said that. I apologize for allowing that nit to be picked. This video is my exact build doing the exact run I do every single time. My hotbar looks a BIT different, but the moves are all the same.

Watched the whole thing. Zero Shadows killed. Only ghosts and living spiders.

1 minute in, all ghosts and living spiders dead, Vero runs away from Shadows.

Ah, guess I never watched it that close. I guess the shadow spiders aren't worth killing for xp, is my takeaway.

The point I am trying to make though, I don't think any solo player should be able to self-attenuate in 10 minutes. The commonality between top tier DPS of any spec from what I see, is the abuse of how powerful barding is and one way or another completely avoiding damage through air shield or relative speed.

All three of these - barding, air shield and movement speed - were adjusted this release. Shield of Air will be getting more nerf and when light armor users are not able to just stand there, you'll see that it's much harder for them to stack those bard skills. Bard skills are also getting more nerf.

A bard, with an instrument, in a group, will be very, very happy though.

As they should. Bard skills were supposed to be this powerful because the bard would need an instrument out, making him just a walking buff machine, but instead, everyone can use bard songs to their full potential, all while maintaining their usual combat abilities. This bard "nerf" which should actually just be called a fix, when it goes in, will be a great thing, the Bard tree has made the game unbalanced for far too long.

Awesome stuff. After watching that my little archer is curled up in the foetal position, sobbing quietly in the corner. I can take some of these things one at a time, slowly, but nothing approaching this.

I do have a question. I have not even touched barding skills. As the wielder of a 2-handed weapon, is there any advantage, or a way to make this work? Any advice appreciated. I hear that barding has also had a bit of a nerf lately, so I'm hesitating; just want some good advice.
