Its already Ultima -- it needs to be in, or else it can't be called a true spiritual successor :> Either in U7 or Serpent Isle, one dungeon had a mage doing such a blood sacrifice. I was trying to find a screenshot, but no luck.

Ya I'm okay with any of these things hehe...well I'm a former player of Sims 1-2 and Ultima 4-9 so...hey it's all good with me :) And if you've ever seen a Cannibal Corpse Album cover...well let's just say I can stomache anything :)

And speaking of the previous game, and fitting perfectly with crossbowsoda's suggestion :

Well a lot of things were dumbed down in The Sims. There were no real lasting consequences to any bad behavior. You could drink as much alcohol as you wanted and never got addicted, never became an alcoholic. If you didn't want babies from sex, you could go to settings and uncheck that. Of course, no STDs. You could never get killed by a burglar or a fire. Never had real medical problems or expenses past something like the cold. In a lot of ways, it was more of a dollhouse game than a true simulation. I expected them to fill in missing features, like laundry, with successive iterations, but what ended up happening is they catered more to the dollhouse and social elements of the game. Plus, attempts to go after the teen girl demographic with things like vampires, werewolves, fairies, and Katy Perry themed items. It was a bit disappointing, since Will Wright was going out on a limb with the first game. Execs at EA expressed doubt that anyone would want to play a game where you'd have to use a toilet.

I find myself suddenly thankful that I'm forced to use compatibility mode and thus am unable to see any video on the forum. There is no icon available anywhere I'm aware of that can adequately convey the expression I have at the moment.

Your sims could die in a fire, in The Sims 2 and 3. Can't remember The Sims 1 though, it was a long time ago now.

Laundry was added in an expansion for The Sims 3.

Modders added STDs to The Sims 3 if you know where to download it (I should know, since I wrote the mod originally). :)

Probably for the best. J.M. Pescado had a sick sense of humor when they developed that mod back in the day. :)

You didn't really have to use it though :)

You could always get killed by fire.. UNLESS you were exploring a "dangerous" tomb in which case you only got singed and took a nap. *eyeroll* I think you have the order of events a bit mixed. It was Will Wright who first introduced the supernatural stuff.. then when he left in the middle of Sims 2 to do SPORE, EA gave the franchise to Humble.. from there everything just went down hill fast until Humble left for Second Life.

All of which is completely off topic. :)

    Now, that's true.

Sort of like several of the suggestions for food in this game : All it does is give you a buff, but you don't really need to use it. :p

Yea, I guess I just don't remember the fire part. Burglars were pretty harmless, though. W. Wright always had oddball elements in his game like that, I just think they ended up focusing on it too much, adding more and more with each expansion :>

Hey, as far as I know, you couldn't starve to death in the sims. Just become incredibly, incredibly non-functional.

And I'm currently using a ton of your stuff. ;) Haven't a clue what I'd do without it.. except maybe not play at all. Maybe a bit of Civ IV?

    ok moving on.

You could starve to death, it simply took a while to do so in say The Sims 3.

Though the sim would complain to no end about it, and usually one would relent and give them back the fridge. :)

Ok cool :> I never left my sim starving long enough to find out, I guess.

I did get locked in a public building where I was unable to use the toilet, and this forced my sim to pee themselves over and over and be publicly humiliated. Fun times.

    Back to babies...

    "The Nanny?"

A hirable NPC Nanny with it's own tax/salary could be need for it's care.
I'm thinking that given one full actual year of care given to the baby (or some other horrible time span) that the baby would then Pop into existence as an NPC type of servent, yet related to you. Then that one could "nanny" another while you're logged out.

Sounds reasonable. Gives those pledge-level servants something to do with themselves while you are away adventuring. :)

If they add NPC children at a couple or three stages for town atmosphere, it would not be a huge leap... I don't think players should have much control over their offspring, anyway. It's more realistic!
