its not going to be a show people will actually fight each other, and there is a tier level to move up until the main event. If somone loses on purpose, it will only be a loss to them since Add-Ons will be prizes.

 

Hmmm I was thinking there would be actual duels: I.e. right click then select duel with character.

 

the arena will be set up to where you accept the terms of the fight (like a duel) but will be 1 v 1 then the winner moves up a tier, and fights the next contender, or you will fight 1 v 1, then the other will fight 1 v 1 the winner of the 2 matches goes against each other 1 v 1 up to the top or main event. Like MMA

 

Mmm but RP'd fighting or actual fighting. If only RP then we need a set of independent judges to decide on the outcome. I was thinking that all fights were actual fights.

 

What about like a Renaissance Fair
have some jousting be able to set up vendors Turkey legs

 

It will be real fighting

 

The battle set up will be real fights with a winner and a loser, based on the type of match. So dont worry it will be like a duel but, organized with a crowd watching and betting on the fights. Also dont forget if you would like your vendor spotlighted, we will have a booth set up for them to sell thier goods Also Taverns could run food and refreshments there selling their product. but space is limited to so please contact me via message!

It will be actual to the death or to the knockout depending on what type of match, working on something so that no one loses karma in the killing process, and noone gets looted, after the dirtnap!

RP as in fighters and teams will be promoting, why they are contenders, on the forum and also on avatar radio, Rp as in there will be commentators on Avatar radio during the matches. Fighters coming up with backgrounds etc.. but when you die in the ring you die (just dont lose any karma or able to be looted)

 

Keep in Mind that both PVP and PVE will be able to participate! It wont be one side or the other, youll only flag for what the competition calls for and when its over your flag will go back to what you originally had it, no time limits etc... (thats my vision anyways, and we're working to make that happen)

 

Captain Jack will vote yes, as he suspects it may be all he will be able to get from this game in terms of quality PvP via ranked standings. It is such a shame to degrade PvP into a controlled environment, like rats in a cage. What Captain Jack really wants is the open sea, wind to his back and the smell of black powder as his cannons unleash his idea of PvP on his target!

 

Sounds cool but it kind of alienates players who target a more support-oriented role, like healing / buffing. Maybe long-term we could ask for the ability to set up team-based arena events only in specific locations, like the arena basements that are being sold or in public arenas.

Arena high up with no barriers and easily thrown/falling off the sides. That would be interesting The more hazards the better.

Didn't they use to flood the Colosseum for naval battles? No really, if Portalarium crush all of our hopes by removing real Open PvP from Shroud of the Avatar, then they had better build us the biggest in-game fighting Arena which encompasses all possible things and styles!
