Current stats from this thread (only)

    • Holdfast 9
    • Hamlet 2
    • Village 4
    • Crossroads 3
    • Town 2
    • City 0
    • Metro 4

One of the metros listed was owned by a player who sold his account. Naively we can assume that is still exists. While there are a few more towns in this area of the forum I haven't trawled through it to check. My own town is incorrectly listed in the OP as a town, currently it is a Crossroads.

The number of holdfasts is pretty healthy and not a cause for concern. The shape of the hump from hamlet to town also looks fairly natural and wouldn't give cause for concern. What's interesting and not unexpected is that few people see the need to buy a City when they can pay that little bit more and get a Metro. The latter represents far better value for money, and generally those who can afford a city can afford a metro. One of the big reasons for going to a metro is the hope that more players living together will generate greater footfall. It is worth noting that there are more metros that could be added to this list which aren't in this post.

Should anything be done to address this distribution?
Will Port naturally adjust the overall distribution of towns (incl NPC towns) in order to compensate?
Even if they do compensate, will it bring the right sort of balance?

That is strange if the unknowns are on the same pattern.
Looking at the POT resources I would have figured that hamlets and villages would have the reverse hump. This since you get +1npc building with hamlet and +0npc building with village. Crossroads seemed like a better place with +2npc buildings. Turns out I was wrong.

The metro hump as you say make sense, if you go big why not go all the way?

Given how it looks I don't think they need to adjust much, lots of those will upgrade before the release pushing the hump I little to the right. But they might need to consider halting new purchases soonish. If POTs get larger and more numerous then it affects the lot market.

My fear is too many metros. While they might be full by the end of EP1, it would perhaps feel 'strange' (?): everyone lives clumped together in large towns then there is a lot of sparseness for miles until the next metro?

I'm guessing here; throwing up ideas.

Oh, no! They're building "Luna"s.... (UO joke, best appreciated by Siege players, even if Tazar is currently *the* slumlord of Luna.)

    • NPC names and stories
    • Lot Selection: Determine which lots of which size you want. For example at this size:
      • 21 Village Lots
      • 5 Village Lots + 1 Castle Lot
      • 20 Row Lots + 1 Castle Lot
      • 13 Village Lots + 1 Keep
      • 13 Village Lots + 4 Town Lots
      • etc.
      • ====================
      • what is the difference between a castle lot and a keep lot?
      • (sorry if this is the wrong place or time to ask this)
      • Is there alot of surplus yard area on one or the other?
