Hidden Vale is actually located off the map to the north east but nice start on the map.

Were those new maps in this Dev+ thread ever released publicly? I don't see them anywhere on General forums or Media page. The new Novia map was on the Steam page shortly but was taken down.

I haven't released some of the translated maps based on the new ones yet since I hadn't heard about public availability.

Hidden vale can be 'publicly' verified by anyone who enters the game. So that shouldn't be a concern.

The full world map should be made public though. It is perhaps an oversight on the devs part that it isn't fully public -- they are pretty busy afterall.

The one you linked to on the Ultima Codex is fine. That's the old map. The newer ones have a yellow tone to the terrain. The old ones have a green tone to the terrain.

    Publicly available but old maps:

Newest maps (still work-in-progress), but unknown if made public:

I can assure you that the maps on Avatars Circle are all okay to release. The Ultima Codex one is one that I haven't personally used yet so I'm going to bank on the fact that Browncoat Jason knows what he's doing and either has the OK for that map or received a blanket OK for having specific types of content up.

Additionally, if it helps, I know it's not the latest map and I know there is a new one that is a lot nicer coming down the pipe so... even if not it's not the end of the world. Duke+ event I got to see the actual Novia overland map and I was really impressed with it... I fully understand why it was pushed back and I look forward to seeing it in game when they get it ready for us :)

Ooo! Exciting to see someone with someone who knows their way around javascript better than me working on a map.

If it helps feel free to use my tiling service as a backend; https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/map-service.12426/
(credit to me is appreciated but not necessary)

And feel free to use the data from the sotawiki api to feed your point data.
Here's an example of a query that gets all the coordinates in Hidden Vale; http://sotawiki.net/sota/Special:Ask/-5B-5Bhas-20continent-20coords::Hidden-20Vale;-3F;-3F-5D-5D/-3FHas-20continent-20coords/format=csv/headers=hide/offset=0
And you can see some javascript for putting that data into the map buried in here http://sotawiki.net/index.php?title=Widget:Map&action=edit (but this is my first time using javascript so I am sure it is fugly)
If you do use the sotawiki API please do credit us and please cache the values of the query on your server so you aren't hitting our API too often.

As soon as I have time (hopefully this weekend or sometime next week) I'll be (a) adding all the scenes they have maps for in game and (b) removing scenes from the zoomed in version of the continent map.

The reason for (b) is that adding the scenes to the continent map is time intensive, fugly with the scene maps they've rotated off of N/S, and Novia is so big I haven't been able to get it working properly. Thus I am scrapping that feature and focusing on (a).

yes,it's free. i'm sorry i dont use cvs to store information but json, because there are more information e.g:npcs, resources, map description, etc.we have another way to manage the map information which contains the coordinates , but i'm very pleased to be able to use your maps api.
I hope we can work together to do a complete map software with rich content.
    Finally, he will be multilingual.

Look at my thread on this:
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/updated-map-with-jigsaw-pieces.3898/

I posted the JPG as well as the PSD with layers to add / delete / change whatever text you want.

I've done the same with the new maps but I'm awaiting official confirmation from the devs before I post that. Otherwise it's locked in this Dev+ thread:
    https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/maps.14334/

thank you very much, i respect the official practice and wait until the map is released. At the same time, if we can cooperate, this web tool as an official tool on web, I am willing to help.
