I want to run a contest and give away some prizes.
I enjoy writing, so I will make this a writing contest.
I will give away at least three prizes.
The prizes will be your choice of either a $10 Store Credit Gift Coupon or one of the Darkstarr/Lord British coins Rild is selling in his store (I'll purchase the coins and pay for shipping, and put you in touch with Rild for mailing address. I don't need to know where you live.)
As many entries as you wish, but I will send only one prize per winner.
I declare March 13th to be the deadline.

I don't know how publishing books in game will work yet, but if I am able, I will publish winning entries and perhaps all other entries in a volume and get them into the world. This depends upon how many entries I get, and what the limits of publishing are.

Let your submission tell an adventure of Sir Frank, or a tale in which a coin plays an important role (or both).

I give you permission to use my character, but I would like you to keep in mind my vision.

Sir Frank's youth and days of wearing heavy armor and swinging large weapons are behind him.
These days, he prefers cloth or leather.
He prefers to operate at night and use stealth.
We know he can move silently, hide in shadows, and in an emergency he can vanish.
He hates using magic. Technology is a wonderful thing.
He has a walking stick that has tubes running down the length and a couple of switches on it. He carries vials of something that can be loaded into the top of the stick. I'm sure it does something interesting.
He serves Lord British and the Virtues.
Sir Frank's day job is Master of the Mint. He has minions to take care of most of the work, so he can be away if necessary.
And finally, his messenger is a monkey with feathered wings.

I'm excited to see what you come up with!
Good luck to all, and thank you for your time.

Indeed! I hope there are enough pages for all of the entries I hope to get. Or, enough entries for all of the pages!

These coins are tempting. I hope I have enough time to write a good story after I finished my bachelorwork. I have only 9 days left then. But I will try.

Quick question, do we PM the stories to you, or post them in this thread, or both? :D

    Either works for me.
Since I'm the only judge, I'll say whichever way you are most comfortable.

I might throw my hat into this. I've been wanting to get more into creative writing again, and I think I can whip up something fairly interesting.

i mean i can basically make a haiku or a rumi-type verse that'll wrap that up nicely, but would something that short be considered a book? i mean, a book for consideration in real life is 50k words. I wish you would reconsider a word count for ease of editing, also. i'm not trying to be difficult, btw. :)

The prize will be worth $10. If you want to write a 50K word book for $10, I'm game.

Really, I'm not going to put limits on this.
If you want, aim for 1000 words.

PM to Vyrin, that is. Not me (the other person behind the Round Table). I have already submitted an entry, so that puts me in a conflict of interest situation if I start offering advice to other contestants. :)

BTW, if anyone is curious, you can see my entry at the Round Table. I'm not a fan of secrets. If you happen to wander over there, check out The Thread, a community writing project that is open to every SotA writer.
