    I realize it's always been this way since the game was released, but could the right mouse button for camera movement please be eliminated? Instead, just moving the mouse would move the camera? It works like this in most other games I play. Keeping that button depressed is aggravating to me.

    Edit: I'm not asking this changed for everyone. I'm asking it to be an option only for those who want to not keep their right mouse button depressed.

    I find having to hold down the right mouse button to look around whilst moving really awkward.

    How about optional rather than eliminated? I am quite comfortable with it as is.

    I've been asking for this since day one. The current setup makes the game nigh unplayable to me. It's awkward, causes me wrist pain and no matter how much I practice, it never gets any more natural. I really hope standard movement (ala Bethesda games and every FPS) gets thrown in soon. I wouldn't mind holding down the right mouse button to activate the cursor (inverted from what it is now).

    Uhm.

    I don't understand. You want to move your visual with mouse without pressing anything else?

    Move the mouse -> move the "camera"?

    I understood correctly?

    If so, how you plan to click on stuff? In a whirlgig of epilepsy-inducing visual rollercoaster, while you try to click on a dialog keyword, on a skill icon, or in a shop inventory and the whole world spins insanely around you?

    If you want to click something, you look at it:)

    As for using menus, I would prefer if Caps Lock was toggle for pointer vs. camera movements

    I'm happy with how it is too, don't change it. Maybe give options to people like OP, but for me it's perfect as-is.

    ...As long as it is "something" in the game world.

    Like Morrowind.

    But for other UI elements that are not "something" physically viewable in the 3D game world? How can you "look at" an underlined dialog keyword? How can you "look at" the party/guild list of players? How can you "look at" your skill tree, or to the various skill you want to assemble into your deck? How can you "look at" the recipe book, the bank, your doll or the chat tabs?

    You need a system then, alternating between view mode (where your mouse cursor is hidden, and you interact only with what you're looking at) and HUD mode (where the cursor is visible, and can be used to click on UI elements without changing your visuals).

    Like Morrowind.

    Know what? This system already exists!

    It's called the right mouse button.

    Eventually, as an optional setting, it may make sense to change its behavior from being a modifier (you have to keep it pressed to enable view mode, while normally you're in HUD mode, like it is now) to a toggle (click once > you're in view mode; click again > you're in HUD mode).

    Well, my solution is to wait for SotA to be compatible with my Oculus Rift. Unity natively supports DK1 and DK2, and it's just a matter of time.

    Mouse -> UI pointer.

    Headset -> camera movement.

    Problem solved. :cool:

    I would like to move with right click and be able to move the camera with the left click.

    Moving the camera should not require clicking or using a mouse button. Clicking on conversations has nothing to do with the camera. Besides, clicking on a vendor requires the left mouse button, not the right.

    I play a lot of games, including multiplayer, that don't require anything for movement except the WSDA keys for forward, back, side to side. Then moving the mouse as I'd move my eyes. It's much less complicated.

    If people enjoy keeping keys depressed while they're running, it's a mystery to me. But I think those of us who want simplicity should have the option.

    is everything.

    I would much prefer the WoW style (move with right mouse button, look with left mouse button) of character control. Not being able to run in a straight line and look behind you at the same time really bothers me. Running backwards is not a viable alternative.

    I'm used to it, now. Of course in any other game I play I'm constantly doing something I don't want to do because I keep holding R-mouse down.

    My preference would be L=mouse attack, R-mouse off hand attack (or block if shield equipped), and Tab (or period, or whatever...) in and out of cursor mode.

    I'm also fine if it stays as is.

    Really taking a stand on this one, I know. Couldn't be more on the fence.

    I think the simple implementation of the option would quell most concerns.

    I actually quit final fantasy online because I hated the controls. So it is important to have options.

    Programmable controls would be ideal. But I think they'd have to code the camera control if you can use other options (R click, L click, moving mouse only, etc).
