Quests of the Avatar

Greetings.

I did this: Quests of the Avatar.

I know there are lots of people who don't want this kind of a instant gratification website that gives answes in a plate, showed to your mouth, already bitten. Still, there's people like me that likes when sometimes when our brain freezes, a bit of a help is appreciated.

I left out all the maps and small details that would make everything maybe too easy.

I enjoyed gathering all this info more than I could even imagine. And I'm waiting for more quests to show up.

 

Well thank you for doing that, and no worries some people will appreciate your work. There are many different personalities playing this game, some prefer one aspect of the game while others perhaps appreciate being in game for another reason, so you
never know. We are all just doing our best to take this game in development a release at a time, we still have many more releases ahead of us. **cheers**

 

This is really well done! I love the way the journal entries are interspersed with narrative of your own. It makes the quests come alive. I will definitely refer to this site often if you manage to keep it up (what a lot of work it must be to keep updated!)

 

The way I see it, walkthroughs and guides and hand-holding are bound to happen eventually. I feel that the way you did it is excellent! There should be "Spoiler" options however that discuss details with how to complete quests as well. There are players who will want this, especially once the game gets closer to launch and has a surge in popularity.

Rasmenar, I did one treasure map that has all the details for just skimming quest through, but I left those out. I might add them later on and make quests two-pagers with first page the narrative walkthrough and the other would be the handheld in-your-face walkthrough.

 

I'm not the type that'd personally use it. I enjoy writing things like that though, I enjoy making maps and such as well. Question about your site - will there ever be room for contributors?

Moiseyev, I must admit, this is the first Ultima I have played since Ultima IV with C-64. Or Amiga. Don't remember anymore. But nice to know I'm following the right footsteps.

 

I like when the community does things like this. It's nice.

You can find it in the bottom of the page. Everyone will be contributors, so you can add posts if you like, but cannot edit or delete others posts.

I haven't found time to add quests from Ardoris, but feel free to do so.

I changed registering a bit. Now there are CAPTCHA in the register form. This because there begun a massive register spam yesterday.

 

Maybe, if this game is not about "end game", it will discourage the rush-to-max-level-as-fast-and-as-efficiently-as-possible types and so encourage a more "it's about the journey" way of thinking. In which case, online solutions to problems might see less activity. Well, I can hope can't I?

 

You can most certainly hope! The great thing about this game, though, is that there really is no "end-game." The story will continue to progress, new quests/monsters/scenes/skills/etc will continue to be added, and it's been said by the dev's that there will be no level cap (just incredibly large quantities of XP needed to level after a certain point). Really, progression only ends once you've done everything there is to do in the game, and from what the dev's have been discussing implementing (skills trained at a trainer training in real time, dynamic events like city sieges by monsters, lowered overall XP or hightened XP requirements) coupled with the rate that they'll be able to work on new content once the game is live, I really don't think you'll just run out of new things to do.

 

I really like what you're doing and how you've put it together. It reads like snippets from a journal that gives enough of hint to put people in the right area, but not enough to completely give it away. Looks forward to see this grow as more quests come in.
