in game lynchings are one thing, assaulting a pk with words meant to make them feel subhuman is another thing and trust me, it happens, a lot.

Ehhhh....ok, don't get me wrong. I do actually agree with that.
But, sorry, that still renders me speechless.
So all you want to do is to make a point. By brute force if nesessary.
    That will get us nowhere.

For months leading up to this release I would jokingly say to people "Beware, PvP release is coming!". I turned my tag on at level 5 the first day. I also told people that I want them to kill me on site. Why?

Because the best way to learn PvP is to die. Getting jumped makes you go into immediate action and teaches you to be prepared at all times. I get ganked on a daily basis and like it. And yes, some grief me.

The night I killed Winfield there were about 40-50 players in Vengeance and not a single person attacked me. I had to attack 5 players(known PvPers) to get them to kill me. I kinda wanted a war to break out for the fun of it, but that didn't happen. I think Ravicus is trying to help change the perception of what PvP is. Tournaments are cool and all but it isnt what I imagine as PvP.

Which is exactly why people want the tools to separate the two. Some want open pvp, others want organised events... both should be possible without interfering with the other.

The guards dont do anything because both players have entered into a consensual agreement.

No they have not, they have both just refused the protection of the oracle. Murder is still a crime and will be acted upon by guards, they are just not yet fully implemented.

The only way I could see this being accomplished is to have a PvP lot mechanic. If your name is added to the permissions list, you are allowed to PvP there. Using Vengeance for fishing is not wise though.

Which is exactly what is planned, people just get impatient XD

Very true, it was a direct challenge that went unanswered.

But for right now, the guards dont do that. So when you remove protection, you are making a consensual agreement with every other person that has removed protection.

I killed a guy yesterday that was farming my spot? Is that bad?

I thought it would be poor form to kill Winfield again. :)

Well, that is other thing I disagree with. While I think you should have the option to attack me when I flag for PvP, I am not giving my consent to it and I still see it as an attempt of murder (unless you catch me tresspassing or stealing...) I am giving consent when I duel. Not when I am in PvP zone, I am usually there for the loot or event, not for the fights. I can understand PvP happening there, it is not something which should earn you ban from the game, but game mechanics should see the 'wrong' behaviour and treat agressors as such. It is same for me actually with flagging, just because yo ucan attack me does not mean I want yo uto attack me, but I quite understand that otherscan see it differently. Maybe we need 2 flags.
[PvP1] - If you attack me, you are treated like criminal
[PvP2] - If you attack me it is consented and there is no penalty for it

No, what we need is working guards.

    And they are.

But the PvP Area is the point we seem to draw the line.
Lot Restrictions will create unfair advantage to Lot Owners in the pvp zone.

I have a secure spot non house owners do not have.

The PvP area is a designated area all should have equal options.

Lot Restrictions will create complains in the PvP Area.
    Pay to Win.
    Please no.

There will never be lot restrictions in a pvp zone, what there will be is a pvp lot in a non pvp zone, which solves the bulk of people issues regarding running events.

There are many PvP areas without any lots.

Anyway I do not believe that being protected at home is unfair advantage. If you do not want someone to have that advantage, do not follow them to their home... Also the advantage could be shared by many non owners with permissions on the lot.

Also Pay 2 Win what in PvP area? Option to place safe house outside of the nonPvP city? Option to craft with some protection if one wishes so? While you can still be attacked the second you leave lot to buy or gather more materials? I do not believe that any non lot owner would even come to PvP POT if there were not people living there which they could kill. I do not think it is that bad if those people can have some protection if they want to. I still believe that people enjoying Open PvP SHOULD have option to have nonprotected lot there.

There may not be any lot restrictions at all, they were put in as a temporary measure to prevent the kind of griefing (not to be confused with pvp) that people have mentioned in this thread so events could continue.

Because the idea to craft something hit me and the crafting table was right there. . . What's crazy is acting like attacking a player who is incapacitated isn't a cowardly move.
