    Do not mistake silence for contentment. Flaming horse heads are even worse than pumpkins.. but even worse still is the headless mask. If the cultural differences aren't enough then how about the practicality of such things. There's a reason we rarely even see such things on Earth. Let's face it.. how many pumpkin masks do we actually see real people wearing on Halloween. The impracticality of them is more immersion breaking than their presence in New Britannia because they're just that unbelievable.

    Coconut bras are another issue entirely.. as is people cross dressing which I see no need to get into here. There's nothing about coconut use that screams "we're Outlanders!"

    Problem with "going to single player" is, in order to not see any immersion breaking things, we have to go to offline mode. But then we never have to option to switch to FPO if we want to adventure together with some friends etc.

    So basically we would need the option to turn off POTs and player houses in single player online, if we don't want to see them but still be able to play with others if we want to.

    @galdrmadhr,

    I don't think Second Life is any more interesting than Life is Feudal.

    Just because something is believable doesn't make it uninteresting. The two are not in contradiction. Besides we're not talking extremes here. Believability is a means to achieve immersion but it is not the end.

    I dont get it. We live in a world of Magic, why is it immersion breaking if we set our heads in flames like this one from Ghost Rider?

    "Because magic" is not an excuse to get away with stuff that doesn't belong.

    There is a line here. Magic has limits defined by the universe it's in. Stuff like what we're talking about blantantly ignore those limits.

    The limits aren't even defined yet. Portalarium gets to decide what belongs. Players need to set aside their preconceived notions and learn to adapt.
