Please put 10 feathers on rabbits as a patch.

Crafting 1000 arrows costs approx $500 which is expensive for new players.

Not being able to gather feathers cuts into crafting profits so that people are unwilling to do the work for so little pay out.

    #freethefeathers!

I totally agree that this is a huge issue for arrows. The 400 gold cost is extremely high and exacerbates the issues of there being no major materials market. However, I advocate adding feathers to chickens to at least mitigate this (like 3x feathers per chicken i think would be enough to make a difference).

There are very few chickens in the world. Be a shame to see chicken farming in owls head along with nude gustballing.

Rabbits are everywhere. Birds would be preferred but I assume adding birds to the world is more time consuming then changing the rabbit loot table.

If you really wanted to bandaid it you could just lower it to 2 gold from 4 gold for feathers.

I don't think that helps create the gathering and crafting economy. As a crafter I'd kill a few birds (rabbits) along the way to save the 200gp in purchased mats. Its about being self reliant.

Maybe they get it from the burning bird, hence the cost?

Also tarring and feathering should not be so expensive! But yes we need feathered creatures that drop plenty of feathers, even a big yellow big bird monster to slay would help...

Why not instead have somthing like a 75% chance to recover your arrow's from a down enemy? Just a thought.

Unless they plan on all the crafting goods (i.e. Chunk of coal, ect) being harvestable I would refrain from putting feathers in. I craft my own arrows which cost me about 63 gold per 100 arrows. Once th player economy is up and running buying arrows from player vendors will be plentiful and relatively cheap.

Ha, yea right, it's easy to shoot 1000 arrows in 1.5 hrs. I don't think i'll resort to picking up single arrows.

I think they are shying away from coding random numbers of arrows shot - 25% = add that to the loot table. I believe this is why ammo scavenger causes you to fire less arrows instead of altering mob loot tables.

2g per feather is still expensive on top of everything else .... I'd rather gather the feathers from anything that has them ...

funny after crafting my own arrows yesterday, 1st time, I was going to post on the feathers bout they are too expensive. I went broke after crafting them, because I needed to invest in a new bow, and buy new skills to survive a tad more. Being an Archer is so dang time consuming as we have to craft the arrows (NPC's arrows WAY TO COSTLY), spend time getting the mats, craft the arrows, spend time getting the mats, craft the arrows, BORING, most of my time is spent stuck in certain areas to get the dang mats, When do I get to EXPLORE? Something needs to be done here. You run out of arrows pretty fast. And don't say you can progress without them, using the bow with out arrows will get you killed pretty fast, unless you are killing chickens. In order to explore, you need LOTS of arrows, to be able to tackle the harder mobs without having to leave the zone to rinse and repeat what I stated above. . I think make crafting them less expensive and less time consuming since it is something we can't live without, or make them cost less at the NPC's, or make a lot more of them retrievable, or make the regular arrows free. OR all of the above :) So shall I say .... So shall it be written .....

I went slumming around in Highvale for a few hours and came back with over 200 arrows. Elf Archers drop up to 10 arrows each. But really the fun part is watching the bandits and elves fighting each other... and tidying up the corpses they leave behind...

I need to check Highvale out. It's now the closest content to Rift's End and guild members have said it's quite nice. 200 arrows is no little sum! Once I get over the initial archery curve that might even sustain itself :)

Currently leveling in the Ruined Keep.

Oh I would like to think once the player economy is up and running things would be plentiful and cheap. But I am not going to hold my breath.
