Er, sorry, what Elbregan said- you do NOT need a pro licence to participate.

Chris missed pushing the info out yesterday so I've poked him again. He promises to have it out today so you guys can still practice jam.

    Happy early Birthday!

No, you will not need a Pro Licence to participate. We want it to be as accessible as possible.

I don't think so. Chatter from Chris tends to suggest that the basic Unity DL (Free) is just fine. Pro gives you cool stuff like nice water and post processing effects but the core is essentially the same and is really all you need. At least, that's my interpretation of what Chris has been saying.

Aye, you're correct. Unity3d free is more than enough to do what is needed.

@DarkStarr - is there any way to get a small hint as to what it might be about? I feel I need to pump up my texture and asset libraries by.... A LOT, especially after doing the practice CotA.

How do not Dev+ backers get the access to the needed assets without buying them?

Any updates as to when the Dungeon Kit(s) will be available to purchase at the Unity Store?

There are supposed to be four of them, every two weeks, starting this weekend.

Hey guys, just wanted to stop by and give an update on a few things-

Chris is still working on getting the current kit assets into the Unity store, I don't have an ETA for this quite yet other than SOON™.

We're a little behind on releasing the public scene jam dungeon kit (this is the kit for everyone, not just Dev+). We were expecting to get it out today but hit a snag with the way the models were setup in the FBX. The kit should be out by EoD tomorrow.

The Scene Jam is still on for this weekend, here are some details- https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?page_id=28725 For those that aren't Dev+ backers we also plan to give out our how-to guide along with Unity tips and tricks that were previously Dev+ only as part of our Public Kit release post tomorrow.

Lastly, to everyone that watched our Unity tutorial last Friday (https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?p=29399), we hoped to get more feedback to everyone that submitted to the practice jam but it's starting to look like we aren't going to get enough time to do so before the Scene Jam so I apologize for that. Hopefully the feedback Chris gave during the video will still be of help to everyone when they get ready to Jam this weekend.

I have only a basic knowledge in this sort of stuff, but it would be fun to participate after watching Chris' tutorial video. I am far outside the United States, and curious, does the contest have a strict cut off time? If it does, then for me, I would lose nearly a day in the cotest, as I'll be at work Monday morning!

Unfortunately there are a lot of people in a similiar situation no matter where they are.

As much as I would like to take the day off and give it a try, I don't have that kind of freedom at the workplace! :)
