I accidentally drag n' dropped my basement entrance into my inventory today. I have a 5 story basement that was thoroughly decorated.

I would expect a pop-up window stating "If you pick up your basement hatch, all of the items will be sent to the bank. Do you wish to proceed? Y/N". Could we get this? I dont want to have to turn the option off/on that prevents moving of home items, as I interact with them very often, and most other accidental moves are rather inconsequential.

Could we get this pop up warning/confirmation window for doing anything to a basement that would ship its contents to the bank? Thanks.

The basement is tied to the lot, not the hatch. Just put it down and it'll still be there.

Ah thanks, did not realize that. In my particular case, I was moving, so I said "oh well" and just stuck the hatch in my inventory. On arrival of my new house, the basement was empty. But I see what youre saying, if I had just plopped the hatch right back down my stuff would be back. This isnt as serious of an issue as I thought, then.

in the past we have asked for the ability to 'lock' placed items where they are. that would resolve this, entirely.

There is the talk from the Devs of the 'Magic Mover', while not for R32 it is on their radar.

Move the entire house and its contents to a new location, items saved in a template kinda thing I suppose.

There is a (new?) option in the Game Options menu that stops you from moving things in your house, and just lets you open/close/interact with them instead.

If you change your house type, does it reset your basement?

your basement as is goes to the Bank, when you pick up that hatch, your basement is still attached and all contents are still within..At least that is my experience

Yes I've experienced this as well. It was naive of me to think I could do this between lots heh.

OK, since I couldn't get a straight answer about this, I decided to try it out. I claimed a village lot, changed the house, placed a basement hatch, set a basement then placed a decoration in the basement. I then picked up the hatch, changed the house type and re-placed that hatch (I encountered a bug here where I wasn't able to place the hatch until I exited to the menu and then resumed again). The basement was still set to what it was before and the decoration was still in it. :)

Sorry, it was just hard to decipher. Were you saying that if I leave the hatch then my basement and all it's contents goes to the bank?
