Spring Telethon: Emote Request List!!

So, in the telethon, it was mentioned that the devs would like the game to have MORE emotes - dances, gestures, etc. than ANY other game on the market. I thought it would be fun (and maybe helpful) for us to make a list of suggestions for emotes we would like to see in game. I would love to see couples dancing/ partner emotes, but that would involve new tech, so I would suggest only adding emotes that can be done solo. And please, Let's try and keep this list as PG as possible.

Here are the ones I would LOVE to see in game.

Gestures:

• Meditate
• Read a book (while holding book)
• Sneeze
• Fitful sleep (tossing and turning) useable while in "bed" mode
• Nod off/ fall asleep (useable only in sit mode)
• Gasp/Pearl-clutching shock
• Blush
• Beg
• Sniffle (less dramatic cry)
• Beam with Pride
• A more lady-like sitting option - legs tucked under or to the side
• Sitting indian style
• Lounge - lie on side propped up on an elbow
• Ta-da! (present something a la Vanna White)
• Wring hands
• Mop sweat from brow
• Emphatic "No" (broad arm gesture, serious expression)
• Blowing bubbles
• Pipe smoking
• Stubborn (foot stomp, arms-crossed)
• Clutch arm/Clutch leg (for RP battle/plays)
• Heart Attack
• Dazed/Dizzy
• Daydream
• Fidget
• Drunk
• Hiccups
• Choking

Dances:

• Line dancing (Macarena, electric slide)
• "Kris Kross" Jump
• Timewarp
• Basic step-touch
• Sway from side to side
• Hustle
• Twist
• Charleston
• Swim
• Touchdown/Victory dance
• Bunny hop
• Conga line

 

Toggles:

• Hold Hat (take your hat/helmet off and hold it in your arm, toggle again or enter combat to put back on)
• Tiptoe (stealthy-type movement)
• Exuberant (skip, hop, excited movement)

Gestures:

• Sleep (like playdead, but with some small motions)
• Alas (Poor Bertha, I knew her well)
• Read is great, but a few different ones would be great (sitting while reading, laying on ground while reading, etc)
• Write (at desk/table with a book and inkpot)

 

Teabag

 

Hell no, that will get you on /ignore.

 

Teabag was brought up in the telethon and got an emphatic No from some of the devs. Other options?

 

Fair enough hehe! It was the only one I remember being mentioned that wasn't on the list I am used to getting on ignore lists anyhow, but I can imagine this is not a very positive or mature emote!

 

Irish dancing! Like Riverdance.

 

Metal Horns/Headbang

I'd also like to see more environmentally organic emotes like wall leans ect that make you look like you're part of the environment instead of so rigid and static.

I'd like to see some emotes just to display emotions. They don't have to be overblown. The emotes can be used by roleplayers, actors on stage and even NPCs in dialogue.

Bring back /boo !!!

 

The Recruit-A-Friend reward of /thumbsup is a two-handed emote. I'd like to see an /aye and /nay emote that is a single thumbs-up or thumbs-down, Gladiator-style.

 

Eventually, I'd really like to see coordinated emotes for these, as well as dancing for multiple avatars. This will likely have a "ramp up" like harvesting does, so you move into the correct position(s) and then move at the same time. This came up before, and it was "complicated" but on their to-do list.

 

I would also really enjoy seeing /moods

these are sorta looping "stances" and facial expressions that the players can toggle and walk around in.

angry
sad
happy
chill
sleepy
drunk
shy
paranoid
hungry
annoyed
stern
ext..

 

Everything I thought of, they wouldn't allow. So I'll just keep my typewriter shut and my pants on.

 

I mentioned this in the Wish List Forum but will put here also:
Diving, for jumping off our piers or high cliffs.
Also, a waltz would be nice.

 

~Yes to Water Style Emotes~
I think the above emote is in keeping with water area parties, which always make great settings in real life for party videos. Currently, the only likable thing about our water is in it's ambience, (which could still improve see attached thread link);

Emotes are all about the visual of what we see and what other gamers can see to help attract them into playing our game, and our waters are the same.

In the "spirit" of these two ambient dynamics merging as @Cianna points out within her suggestion of a diving emote (which I think is a great idea because I've always wanted to, and I have never seen it done in another game)... I offer this that could be done in water as well as on land,

I can see where "jumping emotes" could further enhance our Safe Fall Skill enjoyment

I was actually trying a few emotes while diving into one of our SOTA lakes and found that the only one that looked almost interesting was an active backflip...

I love the dive with the monk's habit on. I didn't even think of trying the back flip in the water. Probably would hit the rocks, though, if we tried it off a cliff.
