Real World Issue made me think of this forum

    Today at work at 11am I found out my small little company was sold to a publicly traded compnay (3rd time I have helped build one up and boom gobbled up -- they all make the same promises the past 2 lied .. lets see how this one goes)

    It is still business as usual for now and I continued my backend coding and then I was whining at my UI guy about something I didn't like.

    He creates a JIRA ticket (devs know what I mean)

    He gives it a specific title and the comment says '(insert real name here) Lace expressed displeasure.

    I think all our feedback should now say .. I am expressing displeasure.


    I got a kick out of how he wrote the ticket up, while fretting about being absorbed into an international publicly traded company that only has one tiny division doing what we do. Fingers crossed I don't have to move to Austin to merge with existing one (though I could bug Prolatarium some).

    Since it was a 'big data' company that bought us up, one that brags they have recorded the IP addresses of 44 millioin oeple that has child pornography (by their alogrithms), and one that has financial records of millions of people and also owns a claim submissions clearinghouse for healthcare it made me scratch my head. My inside joke at work has become OMG I am working for 'Samaritan' (for those that watch Person Of Interest). I am now going to introduce myself as #Root going forward lol.

    Today when we got all our new credentials I said .. oh look My asset Id.
