Shortly after the Obsidian Order fell, there was a massive migration from the lands held by the Obsidians of craftsmen and artisans that could not wait for the concepts of peace and freedom to overwrite the oppressive dogma of the Order. Draconian tax laws and entrenched bureaucrats made sure that the revolution mostly affected the wealthy. In response, and with no organized government to stop them, entire craftsman guilds pulled up stakes and scattered to find better opportunity. While it may or may not have been intentional, the exodus of skilled labor exposed an imbalance in their waning society that the wealthy could not maintain. No longer able to find workers to do the manual lifting or trained jobs, their positions became precarious, with the majority of affluent families eventually falling into disrepair and bankruptcy.

One small group of quarry workers, made up of a few families and coworkers, moved into the wooded mountains northeast of Hilt. They found a promising clearing on the south bank of Lake Equitas and all agreed that it was their new home. With plenty of game in the mountains and fishing on the lake, trees for wood, and an ample supply of stone in the nearby mountains, the town of Breaker's Landing was born. Unbeknownst to the founders, the town's position set it up for profitable future trade with the major metropolis of Brittany, whose need for wood and stone allowed the town to flourish.

Eventually Brittany was built and the demand slowed to a trickle. The influx of workers that moved into town for work slowly disappeared and the town returned to it roots, exporting just enough stone and wood to keep a few tradesmen coming throughout the seasons. All the homes left vacant as people moved to Brittany and elsewhere were taken down and the materials used to repair existing structures.

One family that did not leave was the Solstar family, who made a name for themselves as maritime merchants on Lake Equitas and the coastal towns. With a few boats still in operation, the Solstar's kept the town connected to the larger world, trading with Brittany, PaxLair , and even Aerie far to the west. And, because of their contribution to the local area and the influence the Solstar's had attained throughout the region, the head of the house, Urth Solstar, was given noble status as a Lord.

Urth was proud of the recognition, but he felt a responsibility to the small village of Breaker's Landing, so he remained to raise his family and keep his small business intact. He passed this sense of responsibility on to his daughter, Elara, and two sons, Ayr and Rhune, who still reside within the town today. And, while the residents recognize the family's status as nobles, the Solstar's have never flaunted it or required any type of special treatment, which has afforded them no small amount of respect from the rest of the small hamlet.

Today, Breaker' Landing is a quiet refuge tucked away from direct foot traffic, surrounded by mountains to the west and Lake Equitas to the north. If it wasn't for the steady trade provided by Solstar Shipping, most would forget it was even there.

Breaker's Landing is about coming together and rebuilding. About not just survival but also flourishing, even in difficult times, with the help of your neighbors. With this in mind, the Founders of Breaker's Landing have voted to allow residents to live within the Hamlet's borders rent free!

While the tax levied by having a non-pledge deed will still be in effect, no one will ever be required to pay in-game gold to the Founders for the right to live on our land. Being a resident provides you with a place to call home and neighbors you know care about the welfare of the town. And if you ever wish to join the Founders and claim land that will always be yours even if you stop playing the game (or paying your game-levied taxes), just let me know.

Breaker's Landing is centrally located, just west of Brittany. We currently have a number of row and village lots available, with space for larger lots if requested (No Keeps or Castles, sorry). We also have a Crafting Shop/NPC, as well as a Public Garden with a Cooking NPC.

Thanks for reading and we hope you'll join us!

Breaker's Landing is strategically located, being right across the waters from Brittany (a major NPC city) and within striking distance from PaxLair. It is also near two PvP Pots ( Illusive Passage & Liberty). As you can see from the map below, we expect this area in Novia to be a major center for economic, cultural and Pve/PvP activities.

Do you have room for a town tower and how much would the land cost me?

We certainly do. You can follow the link in my signature for the break down. I've learned to not discuss this in public forums. ;)
