Here are 2 images from last year, where when you socketed gems (only the ruby and sapphire at the time), it gave a visual effect. I would like to see this come back, and more added to reflect each gem type.

I think glowing patterns, symbols, gems and similar could be nice. Glow colour and brightness could vary by enchantment type and strength, perhaps? At the very least magical items should somehow look magical in my opinion.

i too hate the glow, aside from the cartoonieness the yellow is a poor color to coordinate other colors with, my fancy attire will not be enchanted because i don't want to look yella.

Waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too bright. Tone it down a bit and maybe make the glow specific to the type of gem socketed (red, blue, etc.) with a faint white hew being for non-socketed armor.

IT is a demon. I won't even say demon bound blade.

That's a replica of Stormbringer or Mournblade from Michael Moorcock's Elric saga. I was captivated by Moorcock in my youth.

Yes, I was a fan too, but haven't read Moorcock on many years. Elric of Melniboné, good character! Well, rather dark actually. But his black sword may have be the inspiration for the one in Ultima 7... sure it was!

But now the devs have forgotten (or just didn't read Moorcock) and aren't providing us with first class magic swords. :(

yeah I always thought so too. Yep I killed Lord British with it. However I reverted to a saved game because I just couldn't live with the Avatar having strayed so far from the path. I just wanted to see if it worked. lol

However it also used a gem if I recall correctly. I don't remember if it glowed.

I actually like the glow, and until now i thought you had to masterwork an item to +7 in order to achieve it.
But all you gotta do is enchant ^_^
Please devs don't get rid of this feature, give everyone else the ability to turn it off in the options menu.
Don't deprive me of the ability to be bright and shiny.

I dont like the glowing effect and it tends to look even worse the more you zoom out on your character. I was very disappointed when I enchanted my gear and saw this effect. :(

The glowing effects are unattractive and need to be polished, IMHO.
