Please include the following information in your post:
    1. Zone where the surprise is or where it starts
    2. Brief description of the surprise/spoiler
    3. Step-by-step instructions for completing puzzle and/or for finding the surprise (try to include screen shots).
Please avoid posting quests that are provided by NPCs. These quests and their solutions can be discussed in other threads.

Also see Easter Eggs and Real World References for more in-game surprises.

    Finding A Location Using Coordinates & "/loctrack"

Many of these posts contain coordinates for a specific location. To see your avatar's location, type "/loctrack" in the chat box, and your current coordinates will appear in the upper left game window (the coordinates are updated in real-time as you move around). The coordinates are in the order x, z, y (x is East-West, z is elevation/height, y is North-South). To remove the coordinates type "/loctrack" in the chat box again.

Run up the sand pile and jump onto the sluice.

Then jump off the sluice onto the ledge.

Then run along the path to the bridge (shown below), cross the bridge, and run along the path on the other side of the bridge.

Run up the beam to the next higher path.

Then "platform" jump on the ledges (see yellow arrows below) to get to the next higher path.

Then run along the path to the 2nd level of the bridge (shown below), cross the bridge, and run along the path on the other side of the bridge.

Then "platform" jump on the ledges (see yellow arrows below) to get to the next higher path.

Explore the area that you have reached and you'll find some ore nodes and a skeleton with a note:

Spoiler: treasure hunt, that leads to some ore

Go to the Oasis, where there is a tent next to a pond (green arrow)

In the tent, there is a note next to the lantern (green arrow). Read the note.

Then go south through the rock arch and head south by southwest. Keep going keep going until you see the large dragon skull on the ground.

When you reach the dragon skull, face northwest and look at the rock face, where you will see a double headed snake design in the rocks (the note in the tent said "meet me...north of the place where we found that two-headed snake")

From this point, head northeast until you see the scene below. The green arrow marks the location of a skeleton on the rocks.

Climb onto the boulders, look at the skeleton on the left, and read the note next to the skeleton (green arrow).

Next continue to jump over the boulders (red arrow) . You will find the "motherload" of ore in a hidden cave. One example of the ore is shown by the yellow arrow below. Not exactly a motherload!

Once inside the secret cave, be sure to climb onto the rocks to the north, there is more ore up there.

One last fun surprise. In the skeleton's note (green arrow), it says "Wolves caught m leg. Nver seen so much blood". If you look just below the skeleton, you'll find his pick ax (blue circle) and his legs! (yellow circles).

Spoiler: jump puzzle, that leads to a bonfire (you can light the bonfire, but I am not sure if lighting the bonfire accomplishes anything)

    Find the structure shown below:

Go inside the structure and look for the rope (yellow arrow). Click on the rope to climb it.

After you climb the rope, follow the path shown by the red arrows.

    Then climb the ladder
    [IMG]

After you reach the top of the ladder, jump onto the plank shown below
    [IMG]

Then turn around. Jump or run to the planks shown below:

Then turn around. Run along the beam to the other side. Then run and jump to the beam near the base of the stairs.

Climb the stairs and then run over to the bonfire. If you click the bonfire, it ignites. Not sure if lighting the bonfire serves any purpose.

There are similar structures located in multiple other zones. In each case, the solution to get to the top may not be exactly the same, but each solution follows the same general concepts.

This is so cool! ;) Great thread!

I was wondering if the Bonfire had anything to do with the Ritual Site on the other side of the map. Like if someone stood in the Ritual Site while someone lit the bonfire...

It's good the devs are setting up puzzles and the such. Right now that doesn't seems related to a quest, but surely they do it for some reason.

You realize you could actually profit from this knowledge by conducting tours for gold instead of posting spoilers? You seem to be an explorer type, and I wonder if it would be pleasurable for you to blow your clients' minds by conducting or roleplaying these excursions?

NOTE: This puzzle is of historical interest; it was removed starting with R35 in 10/2016.
But some remnants of the puzzle still exist (e.g. The book On Following The New Order and the book Paen to Lord Visayon)

Zone: Tower of the Shuttered Eye
Spoiler: Finding the Key of Arcane Power (which allows you to enter the loot room at that top of the tower)

On the first floor of the tower, there is a note on the table (green arrow). The notes reads "Embrace the Dawn, face your pain, then count three, the new order shows the path"

In the Southeast corner of the first floor, you'll find the Lord of Agony statue.

In the Northwest corner of the first floor, you'll find the Lady of the New Dawn statue.
In the note "Embrace the dawn" indicates that you should stand at the base of the Lady of the New Dawn statue.

"Face your Pain" indicates that you should turn around and face toward the Lord of Agony statue (which is Southeast).

"Then count three" indicates that you should count to the 3rd bookcase as you walk Southeast toward the Lord of Agony statue, and look at the books in that 3rd bookcase.
"The new order shows the path" indicates that you should look for a book with The New Order in the title (green arrow), and the information in that book will tell you where to go.

Open the book entitled On Following The New Order and read "...seek what opens behind arcane power".

Go to the Northeast corner of the first floor and you will find the Lord of Arcane Power statue.

"...seek what opens behind arcane power" indicates to look for something behind the Lord of Arcane Power statue.
There is a protruding loose stone behind the statue (green arrow).

Click on the loose stone and you'll open a little cabinet with the following items in it:

The plaque on the statue was changed from "Visayon, Lord of Arcane Power" to "Temna", and the loose stone behind the statue was removed. However, a loose stone was added on the wall near the statue (red arrow in picture below). This loose stone has a rare chance of dropping the book "Paen to Lord Visayon" (a remnant of the old quest).

After you climb to the top floor of the tower, the Key of Arcane Power will unlock the gate shown below (green arrow).

And inside the gated room you will find bags, chests, boxes, barrels, and cabinets filled with loot!

Spoiler: How to get through the "Spiritual Barrier" and into the Liche Room

You cannot pass through the barrier unless you complete this puzzle. The barrier leads to a Liche room, and to more caverns with mining nodes (ore and gems).

When you first encounter the barrier (green arrow), there is a note on the floor in front of the barrier (red arrow). The note states "...we can compel the barrier to dissipate by disturbing three nearby skeletons...each skeleton might even have a letter..."

So, basically you need to find the 3 letters and put them in your inventory, and then the barrier will disappear and you can pass into the "restricted" area.

Skeletons with their skull attached to their spine do not have a letter. Only decapitated skeletons have a letter (i.e. the skull is detached from the rest of the skeleton). So, if you click on the skeletons with their head lopped off, you will find the 3 letters without wasting time clicking on all of the other skeletons. Note: all of the letters can be found on the same level of the mine.

The first decapitated skeleton is immediately next to the barrier (green arrow) and the note (red arrow), which were also shown above. Click on this skeleton, grab the note entitled "Our imminent deaths" and place it in your inventory.

Turn around and go back to the rail tracks, take the south passage and follow the track. When the track splits into a north and south bound track, turn north a walk a few steps, and you will find the second decapitated skeleton, click on it, and grab the letter entitled "I swear I will" and place it in your inventory. Note, the skeletons that have a letter often have a faint green radiant glow (seen in the picture below).

Now, turn around, and follow the north bound track until you find the third skeleton, which is where the tracks turn in one direction and a ramp heads down in the other direction (you can see the green glow again in the picture below). Click on the skeleton and grab the letter entitled "To my sister and mother" and place it in your inventory. Now the barrier will disappear, and you can pass through to engage the Liches!

Well I like some of the potential easter eggs one can see them preparing when building some scenes which are not fleshed out.

Yesterday I was in Brittany Alleys, and the Valve on the pipe next to the factory, and the ship wrecked on the reef where one can see stuff at the bottom, etc.
One can see them preparing the coming easter eggs even though it isn't fully implemented yet.

Zone: Ruins of Ravensmoor (entrance is inside Ravensmoor)
Spoiler: Solution to the torch puzzle that opens the gate to the liche room.

When you get far enough into the dungeon, you will enter the "torch room" shown below:

If you look closer at the gate (green arrow above), you will see that it is flanked by 2 blue wall-mounted torches. This is a hint: in order to open the gate, you have to make all of the free-standing torches in the room turn blue.

If you click on a free-standing torch, it changes the torch that you clicked and the adjacent free-standing torches to the opposite color (blue torches turn to yellow torches, and vise versa). At first, one torch is blue (the one in front of the staircase) and the rest are yellow (see pic below). To open the gate, you have to turn all the torches blue. To accomplish this, click on the torches in the order shown below by the red numbers.

When all of the torches have a blue flame (as shown below), the gate will open!

Note: This puzzle was changed in Release 47 (10/2017); it had a different solution before that.

I would love to see a Brittany Sewers Steam Room guide as currently on the Linux version steam and smoke is invisible which makes it very hard to work out what state the room is in.

There should be a Dragonbone Throne in the chest in there.

    Greetings, George here.
Shamelessly advertising my book series,"Scouting report 01" available at Vyrin and Womby's. It includes spoilers I have found and details on resource locations. It is certainly far from complete, but i did discover and note some of the interesting spots mentioned here myself, as well as a few other bits and pieces. The series is growing so stop buy regularly for new material. :)

Zone: Moors of Northshore (on Hidden Vale)
Spoiler: Path to hidden ankh (this was found by others and previously posted, but I re-posted it here)

Go to the West entrance in the zone, and then head south along the base of the rocks (toward the red arrow below).

As you run along the base of the rocks, you will see a gap in the rocks (red arrow below). Jump up into the gap. The green arrow shows a dead bear that I killed near the gap entrance.

Continue to run through the gap in the rocks (see path of red arrow below). To help orient you, the green arrow shows the dead bear near the gap entrance. The blue arrow shows the eventual goal of this adventure: the hidden ankh.

After you have run through the gap in the rocks, you reach a dirt path. Follow the dirt path as it circles around and up the hill (red arrow below), and then you will reach the ankh (blue arrow).
You will have to kill some bears that inhabit this path.

As far as I know, the ankh does not do anything. But it is a somewhat hidden surprise!

Once you are on the higher platform, climb the vine (by double-clicking it) to get to the 3rd floor.

On the 3rd floor, run across the wooden bridge, jump onto the fallen stone pillar, and run up the pillar until you reach a wooden beam.

Jump onto the wooden beam, and run up the beam to the 4th floor.

On the 4th floor, run up onto the wooden platform.

When you get to the gap, jump onto the fallen stone pillar, and run along the pillar to the other building.

Then jump down next to the rock pile, and double click on the rock pile to clear the stone debris.

Once the stone debris is cleared, jump down to the level below.

You have found the treasure chest (nice loot in there!). To escape, climb the vine (by double-clicking it), which will take you back to the higher level.

Then, climb another vine (by double-clicking it; make sure you click high enough on the vine). This will get you back up onto the fallen stone pillar that connects the buildings. From there, you can back-track the rest of the way to get to ground level.

Here is an example of the view from the 5th floor of the building: nice place to scout for prey!
